Baskin-Robbins: Free ice cream for those with gym memberships (Thursday, January 15, 2009)

I don't have a gym membership (I love working out at home with my elliptical that we bought off of CraigsList for a steal!), but for those of you who do, you can get a free 2.5 oz. scoop of Bright Choices ice cream at Baskin-Robbins tomorrow (Thursday, January 15, 2009).

It seems a bit of an oxymoron to me to get rewarded with ice cream for working out, but hey, if Baskin-Robbins wants to do it, you might as well take advantage of it! More details here.

There is also a $1/1 coupon here for those of you (like me!) who don't have a gym membership.

Thanks, Bargain Banana!

Well, the ice cream is actually a new line of low-calorie, low-fat ice cream, so that makes a little more sense. :)

Ya know… you could probably sign up for the 30 day free gym membership at Bally’s mentioned previously (it’s a few posts down) and use that freebie for this freebie. ;)

Hey Crystal -

Can I ask what kind of deal you got on the elliptical…not sure when is low enough…

We got ours for $100 almost-new. It was originally around $400 so I considered that a great deal. Especially since I’ve almost worn it out from use. Okay, well not quite, but I’ve used it a LOT!

I tried two Baskin Robbins today and neither had heard of the promotion and so they acted like I was retarded. I told them it was on their website. How do they not know about it? It doesn’t say “at participating locations” on their site.

Yup, my local store said “we don’t do that”. I am contacting them now.

I called the 1-800 number on BR site and they apologized and are contacting the stores I went to and sending me gift certificates so I can try BRight choices on them. They’ve redeemed themselves.

I too called and they are sending a coupon. The owner of the store also called me to apologize and is investigating the break down of communication in his store… and sending coupons.

Yep, same thing happened to me but at least the manager at my store gave it to me. I felt stupid though and wondered if I had the right date afterall.

I also had the same problem.. the store said they had no idea what I was talking about! I did call the 1-800 number and the customer service lady was extremly apologetic and I am also receiving gift certificates in the mail.
