I have tried doing this with Mercury Magazines before – what do you do about your “job” status etc if you are a stay at home mom?? I have had trouble getting this to work even marking “none”. Any ideas? Thanks

I put “title” and “company” even though I work outside the home. I’m a little skittish about giving out a lot of information. It worked fine for me.

i am going to have about 14 magazine subscriptions begin to arrive in my mailbox in 4-6 weeks! lol.

thanks, crystal!

I put Home and MOM, it worked and it is accurate.

I could not get it to work. It said my city, state and zip code did match. I tried it several times changing little things, capitals, 5 digit zip, 9 digit zip, etc. no go!

hahah i wrote ‘domestic goddess’ for a title and (our last name) household’ for company. it finally took it. we’ll see what happens…

I have always been kind of hesitant to do these free magazine things. I never quite knew what they were for. I don’t mind getting junk mail. But I do mnd getting bills for “free” things.
So – what is the catch? Or is there one?
Again, I don’t mind some things – I just want to know what they are up front.

Money Saving Mom here: You’ll never get a bill for any free magazine offer I post–of if you do for any reason, be sure to tell me in a jiffy!

There is no catch; I’ve been receiving numerous free magazine subscriptions for a year or two or more and never have received a bill. I’m very careful about the offers I post here as I want you to be guaranteed they are legitimate and genuine.

In many cases, magazines are supported mostly by their advertising, as opposed to their subscriber base. The more subscribers they have, the more they are able to charge for advertising. So, from time to time, they will give out a number of free subscriptions in order to boost their subscriber base. I am sure there are other reasons as well, but I know this is one of the big reasons magazines will give out free subscriptions.

Hope that helps!

Thanks! That helps a lot! It makes sense now!
And that is what is one of the wonderful things about your blog – is that you know more about many of these things than I do – and you have already checked them out. So I am able to save even more money by taking advantge of really good offers that I would have been too hesitant to try before.
Money Saving Mom, Mommy Snacks, and Money Saving Methods are total BLESSINGS to me!
