Starting in the mid-week ad tomorrow, Sure deodorant is on sale for $2.50 each. Use the $1.50/1 EasySaver coupon and stack with this $1/1 coupon here to get it free after coupons. If you were needing something to help put you over your $25 purchase amount in order to receive the $5 Register Reward, this would be a great filler! (Thanks, Shellie!)
Also, there's a great cough drop deal going on:
Buy 26 bags of Walgreens brand cough drops @ $.99 = $25.74
Use 4-day coupon from mid-week, takes $0.60 off each one (-$15.60)
Pay $10.14, get back $10 gift card (see page 39 of this week's ad)
You'll likely want to split this up over a few transactions since the 4-day coupon says a it's a limit of 3 per transaction. Plus, if you use these as fillers, they can help get your total up over $25 so you can earn more $5 Register Rewards! (Thanks, Melissa!)

I noticed something in the Walgreens ad today that no one has mentioned, so I wonder if I’m seeing it wrong. Russell Stover boxes of candy, 11.5 or 12 oz, are buy one at 8.99 get one free. Would those count towards the $10 Russell Stover deal in the December Easy Saver? If so, it’s a small money maker. I couldn’t find the ones that were a great deal last week, so I was tempted to try this…it would get you close to the $25 mark to get a $5 RR too…
I don’t see the cough drops listed on page 39 as being eligible for ESR. Am I missing something?
I also don’t see where the cough drops = $10 gc
thanks!
I think the cough drop deal is part of the FSA deal where you spend $25 and get a $10 gift card back. It’s on page #52 of the ESC.
The ESR book lists them as a qualifying item under rebate #13. They’re also listed as a qualifying item on the Walgreens website.
Catherine – the Russell Stover rebate is only for Private Reserve or Holiday tins. But I like they way you think!
I don’t see how you can split up the cough drop deal and still get the gift card. As the computer doesn’t remember from one customer to next.
just to confirm when stacking coupons: which first-walgreens or manufacturers?
Tomorrow I’m getting the arm and hammer and the sure.
BTW the easy saver catalog is not letting me print the page with the sure-is there some secret to print only 1 page? Or can I pick up the catalog in the store?
i have another question about the 5 RR wyb $25 – is that 5 RR like other RRs in that if I use a 5 RR from transaction #1 will a second 5 RR not print in transaction #2?
does that make sense?
Thanks.
Did you really say 26 bags of cough drops? I don’t know why, but that just made me laugh! I’m all for stocking up when it’s a great deal, but I don’t know if I could use that many bags in a lifetime! They would be good to give away (stocking stuffers?), if you could actually find that many at the store! Thanks for all the great ideas.
Jeremy – Since the gift card is a rebate deal, you submit all your receipts, and Walgreens can tell if you qualify for the offer or not. I do mine online, and it looks at the total of everything bought on all receipts, and you still get it even if you split it up among multiple orders.
Because I did the $5/$25 deal 4 times last week, I can answer Melissa’s question. You can roll the $5 RR into another transaction and get another $5 RR. It is awesome. And it works over and over. You can only use 1 $5 RR per transaction, though.
And Jeremy, to get the $10 gift card, you have to turn in your receipts via online or mail in, so that’s how Walgreens figures out you spent $25.
Where is the Sure in the mid-week ad? I must be blind. (Or is it in some locations and not others.)
Thanks.
Also, how many Walgreens are going to HAVE 26 bags? I think this “deal” is only good for really LARGE families that have lots of colds. WE’ve used barely 2 bags in over a year! (I just had to buy more cough drops this weekend. Our second bag in a year). My husband would not be impressed with having to store 26!

If your store has lots of bags. Or, if you have more than one Walgreens store, you could buy some at each, if you’re planning multiple trips.
Money Saving Mom here: I was thinking this would be great to donate to shelters, etc. as I don’t think most families could go through half that many in a year!! We only go through around 4 bags/year here.
I just got back from WAGS, and I paid my $8 for the detergents, and I got back a $5 RR AND a $1 RR for Sudafed. Use that and/or the recent Sudafed Qs on the “buy 3 get $5 back” deal on Sudafed and other cold medicines, and if you get $25 worth of those, you’d get back the $5 RR on that deal AND the overall 5/25 deal!
I had to ask, as usual, for them to go to the back and get the flier. Is there not an employee “here’s what’s up for the day” memo they’re supposed to read?? Especially the managers??
I will be LIVING at Walgreens the next couple of days!
When an item will be free, I always give my mfr coupons THEN my Wags coupons. Otherwise the Wags qs will beep.
I was at Walgreens promptly at 8am when they opened. I had to ask for the 4-day ad because they hadn’t even put it out yet. I think they thought I was crazy. Good thing I didn’t try the 26 bags of cough drops. Then they really would have thought I’d lost it.
Anyway, I did the Sure deal. I accidentally gave them the ES coupon before my other coupon but it didn’t beep. I think because there’s no overage. Another plus, I was able to get 2 even though the ES coupon said limit one.
Last week I didn’t know about the $5 RR sale and went to WAGS to buy stamps with my rebate gift card. I bought 3 sets of 20 and it gave me a $5 RR for spending $25. Not sure if it works this week, but it’s a great way to save on stamps for Christmas cards!
I went to wags this am to do the arm & hammer deal. They have no idea there is a mid-week sale going on at all! No flyer. I asked about it, and he told me that they have no sale going on like that. What should I do??
At my Walgreens the Sure Deoderent is regularly 2 for $5 or 2.99 each. I used the Easy Saver Coupon and the Manufactor’s coupons today and got them both for free- I wasn’t even charged sales tax- which I thought was odd.
Thanks, paidtwice. that is a pretty cool deal at wags.
I just got back from my trip to Walgreens (my total oop ended up at $17.29 down from $76.03, plus I got 2 $5 RR and will get $2 in rebates) and I found some kids coloring/activity books on clearance near the register. Inside the front cover of the books was a bunch of coupons!
Kroger has Sure on Sale for $1
Last week there was no sign for the Russel Stover sale but I went ahead and had them check the price and sure enough it was on sale…just have them check the price of the arm & hammer and see what comes up!

I did multiple transactions and rolled the RR. I couldnt roll them at the cosmetics counter. She told me if you use a RR it wont print another. Strange since it works at the regular counter. I went back up there
.
I ended up getting the 26 cough drops and you can put them in one transaction, the coupon will still work. Not sure what I am going to do with them but if I DIDNT get all 26 then it would cost more money. I mean .14 cents for even one bag is a steal. 26 bags? Well wow is all I can say.
Thank you!!
I used to work with a guy who ate cough drops like candy.
He always had a huge jar on his deak and a dozen in his pocket.
My SIL still works with him, so I was thinking of maybe sending some his way!
I went a day early for the Sure and got it for .49 which is still great for me. I didn’t realize 1) there was 2/$5 deal NOR that I could have purchased 2 @ free. DUH!! Tomorrow…
THANK YOU!!
I’m kind of new at this but when the Walgreens coupons have a limit of 1 (like the Sure coupon), how do you buy more than 1 in one transaction? Do you get several flyers and cut out several coupons? I know some of you have had experience being able to buy more than the coupon states but I am kind of a rule follower. Thanks.
Sure had a 2/$5 sign in front of it in my store. So, get 2 and just hand them the coupons, all 4 of them. Never hurts to try as I didn’t
there was no sign for the sure for 2/5! I’m going back to get more free detergent so I’ll try then.
I got 4 detergents with 4 $1 off coupons, it was $4.87 and I got a $5 RR.
I rolled it into my next transaction-I had to buy eye ointment for my son who needs it when he’s sleeping-it cost $10.99. I boguht 1 sure, 3 puffs, 2 kellogs, 2 scotch tape, 1 pack Quattro disposable razors, and 1 eye ointment. Gave my RR from the previous transaction. OOP? $16.50 and got another $5 RR – so I basically paid for my eye ointment and got everything else free!!! Oh and I need to send in the easy saver for $2 off the tape. Until I started doing this I would’ve just run to Target and paid $11 and been happy. So thank you!
WOOOOHOOOOO
26 bags of cough drops. Oh my I think that would last an entire lifetime!
Well I feel just silly now. I thought you had to have $25 after coupons to be able to get the $5 RR to print. I asked the cashier and she said she really didn’t know but to be on the safe side I might want to have enough after coupons to cover the $25, so I did. I bought enough stuff that it totalled around $47 or something, but $25 something after coupons. Of course I got my $5 RR, but now after reading it seems I didn’t have to buy 8 A & H laundry soap along with tape, nail polish, paper cutter and nuts – hmmmmm – is this the case?
26 bags of cough drops!!
That’s fantastic!
Time to start giving them away, no?
I LOVE this RR deal at WAGs. I will be going back since my RR expire soon.
Thanks for all the tips/tricks………Check out my blog for the transactions I already did.
http://couponnerd.blogspot.com/2008/12/did-you-get-your-5-rr-from-wags-for.html
I went to Walgreens and didn’t get a RR because my out of pocket was $9.46. Before coupons it was $38.46. Is that right yesterday I spent 11 something out of pocket and got the RR did they change it overnight. That’s what the manger said. What is everyone else finding?
It must have been a glitch! They fixed it I just read the fine print!!!

Thanks for all the great info!
I LOVE YOU MONEY-SAVING MOM!!!! I found your site 3 days ago and have been reading and re-reading the posts especially regarding this weeks Walgreens deals. I read almost every comment so I would be prepared when I went today. I had my coupons and was prepared in what order I needed to present them. I was kinda nervous that somehow their register would explode or I’d have a herd of employees reading my coupons and giving me evil looks. However, all went SOO smoothly and I was in awe of what I got for FREE!!! Even my husband couldn’t believe it and pretty much thought we had to be stealing. THANK YOU!!!!!!! from someone who has given up the TV connection to save money and is spending that time researching ways to save and was blessed to find your blog
Got a B2/$5 deal on the Sure today and after all 4 coupons… .30 spent. I think I am pretty stocked on smelling good in that department for now. Thanks once again.
And I did get another A&H, couldn’t resist. I just wish the library would let you print coupons.
Just got back and got all this…
26 bags of cough dropsassorted flavors, 3 walgreens cherry chapstick, soleil razor, soleil 4 count razor refills, 4 bags of hersheys christmas candy, cookies and 3 packs of coke.
Got all this for $13 and then got $7 RR, then will get $15 on rebates for coughdrops and candy…So i made $9 profit!!! Woot!!!
I was so dissappointed at my Walgreens this week( same one I got so many great deals last week). I got up to the cash registered with 2 A&H deteregents /2 MFcoupons/in- ad coupon,3 Kelloggs cereal/3MF coupons, and some odds and ends that totaled over $25.00 before coupons .I had 3 different RR coupons that totaled over 20.00 also to use from last week. The cashier said I could use only 1 MF coupon per transaction even though I had multiples items and could not combine my RR coupons. Only one RR per transaction.ANd then they said it had to be $25.00 after coupons to get $5.00 RR. They must of lost lots of money on their deals last week. I guess I should be thankful for all the great savings from last week
.
HI,
One of my transaction tonight at a store that closes at 10pm, I miscalculated and the total came up below $25. I went to 24 hr Wags to ask if I could return and rebuy it with additional filler items. In the transaction I used $5 RR, $2 MQ, and bunch of WQs. The mgr said I will not be able to return because I’ll lose the $5 RR that I used. (so he said, it is not worth trying to get $5 Holiday RR and lost the RR that I spent). I’m still confused. How do we return anything when you purchase items using RR and MQ?
Thank you.
