Walgreens: Entertainment Books for $10 each

by crystal on December 10, 2008

Entertainment_book

Walgreens currently has the Entertainment Books on sale for $25. Buy them by Saturday and use the in-ad coupon to get $10 off the price, making them $15 each. Plus, you'll get a $5 Register Rewards back making them $10 after the in-ad coupon and Register Reward.

These would make for a great and inexpensive gift for someone on your list who enjoys dining out and shopping while at the same time saving money.

Thanks, Thrifty Mama!

The books for my area and only $15.00 so that makes them $5 after the 10.00 off! A really great deal!

The E. books in my area are $35… but I still managed to get it for $20 with the $10 coup and the $5 RR… still a pretty good deal considering all the money it saves me over the course of a year.

I wonder if the size of the book determines the price, with ones for bigger cities costing more… ours is pretty stinking big…

Is this for the 2009 books? (Just wondering because the pic is the 2008 book.)

If it is the 2008 book, when do the coupons typically expire?

It states the 2009 on the walgreens in ad coupon.

Thank you for the heads up :)

the price differs, according to what area you are in. Ours are $30 here – wish they were $15!

Does anyone have good information about exactly what comes inside in order to see if it’s worth the cost?

Would love any more advice!

Claire, go here (http://www.entertainment.com/discount/home.shtml) and you can enter your zip code and preview the discounts available in your area. This should give you a good idea of whether or not it’s worth it to you. HTH! :)

I got my two 2009 Entertainment Books for a profit of 2 USD!

http://choystercash.blogspot.com/2008/12/two-2010-entertainment-books-for-profit.html

Here’s how I did it, using excellent advice from Swap Savers.

1. Sign up for Cashbaq.

2. Get $5 bonus in account for sign up.

3. Buy 2 Entertainment Books (my area’s regular priced ones were 30 USD but yours might be less).

4. Automatic discount of 10 USD per book.

5. Say you want “automatic renewal” – this means that they will take off another 5 USD, and in a few months you will get a card in the mail you can cancel.

6. Receive 10 USD cash back per book from Cashbaq.

Out of Pocket: 23 USD
Will Receive: 25 USD in Cashbaq rebates.
Profit of 2 USD!

My husband went to Walgreens this morning before work and got my entertainment book!!!! He paid $15.00 out of pocket and got a $5.00 RR!!! It’s like paying only $10.00 for a book that cost $25.00. And our book has a ton of good coupons! It is worth every penny! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the Big coupon book different from the regular entertainment book? I have never seen this Big coupon book, but that is what the coupon is for that was in my ad from yesterday.

I went to our Walgreens last night and the book was $15. I used my coupon and $5 rr and got it for free! For our area it’s not that great, but at least I got some free coupons!!

How do you get the register rewards? Don’t you have to spend $25?

I bought one through my dd’s school fundraiser for $20.00. I’m going to go buy three more for gifts. I live near Columbus, OH and they are well worth the money. I use them almost every year to reserve rental cars for vacation and a lot of times the savings right there pays for the entire cost.

Poo, ours are $40 so with copon and RRs, still $25.
I have never purchased one before and am curious if it has any great deals for my area. I guess I’ll have to make a trip to Wags and flip through it.

Melissa- the books are on sale for $25, and the register reward deal is on the pre-coupon amount, so $25. So, it qualifies!

The books in my area (Maryland) were $30. I’m really happy with this transaction. My book has four $5 coupons for Safeway.

Thanks for posting this deal, I would have missed it.

Ours was $30 so $15 after all was said and done. Still a good deal. I already had one but bought a second one as they have great B1G1 for local museums and restaurants that we love. It will be worth it!

I went to my regular Walgreen’s last night to get the Entertainment “Big” coupon book. This store had a fire a couple of weeks ago and they didn’t have any in stock. So, I went to a different one and bought the book with $10 off and no $5 RR came up. I asked the manager, and he said he never saw any $5 RR come up for any purchase of an Entertainment book. They are $30 here in Denver and there wasn’t anything saying it wasn’t included in the promotion. I’m thinking I should go to my regular Walgreen’s and talk to someone a little bit nicer about it.

The EB at Walgreens was $35, with $10 off was only $25 – I just couldn’t get myself to spend that. Even though I would have received an additional $5 off, making total cost $20, it was still too much. I am hoping to get it free for X-mas!!!

I hope someone is reading this because I would love an answer. I just went to Walgreens to get the Arm & Hammer laundry detergent, and was told that because the limit is two on the coupon that I had to do two separate transactions. I explained that I was trying to get to the $25 mark to get the $5 RR, and she said I would not reach it because the discount would put me below $25! It gets better. I tried to get the Sure deoderant and use the coupon from the link on this site, and they said that there is a company wide policy that they do not accept internet coupons unless they are from Walgreens! What??
