The big news for this week is that on Monday, December 22, 2008 only you can get a free-after-Register-Rewards Conair Gel Grips Hair Dryer. (Buy one Conair Gel Grips Ionic Styler Dryer at $10, Get a $10 Register Rewards back!) Not only is the $10 price already half off the normal price of this hair dryer, but getting it free after Register Rewards? That is one sweet deal!

I'm considering getting this since I've been needing to replace my hair dryer for some time. Does anyone have experience–good or bad–with this hair dryer? If so, I'd love to hear!

And here are the other weekly deals available at Walgreens this week, with thanks to Mercedes for her help in compiling them. Check out her post here on Cashbaq, a rebate program I'm hoping to check out soon myself!

I have a Conair Ion dryer that I love. It makes your hair less frizzy than traditional dryers, and mine happens to be less noisy than alot of others. It is a different older style which I got 4 or 5 years ago and it just keeps working!

I don’t have that particular blow dryer, but I’ve had Conair dryers before and they’ve always worked well for me!

My last several dryers have been Conair brand. I’ve had good experiences and would recommend the brand.

This weeks ad has some great values!

5 Claire at Choyster Cash December 22, 2008 at 5:14 am

These are going to go really fast – so get them early in the morning!!

I checked out these hair dryers when I was at Walgreen’s this week. My store only had 2. I also wasn’t very impressed with the gel grip either– its that stickey plastic that seems to attract dirt and hair. Probably not good qualities for a hair dryer. Anyway, I’ll be letting this free deal pass.

I have that one and I like it alot. The handle is super soft, but it is large!!!

I have not tested out that particular dryer, but I have held it and tested out the gel grips, and they are great.

My dh was at the 24hr store by 7am and they were gone. :( Someone came in at midnight and bought them out. Ugh!

Checked this morning – my Walgreens had 3 total, and they were holding 1 of them for some woman that bought one yesterday by mistake and had returned it…then they held it so she could get the deal.

I would think the manager should have ordered at least a dozen – 3 is ridiculous!

Time to start shopping at CVS and Rite Aid again…Wags has been out of everything on special every time I check. Finally got 2 of the B1G1 creamers late Sat. night after checking 3 wags on my way home. Not worth the gas money to get their deals anymore!

After taking the kids to the church for the xmas ice skating party hit Walgreens. At 8:30, already out of the hair dryer. Why am I not surprised. But I did get a good deal on the Everready battery charger. Found one on sale for $6 ( included 2 AAA and 2 AA), used $1/1 coupon, entered $5 easysaver rebate (not sure it will go through, but tried anyway) and sent in $5 mail in rebate. So worse case, it is free, best case, $5 over.

I have had a problem with the Demets Turtles, last week and this week. I had to buy 4 boxes at .99 to get my two 1.50 coupons to work, it would not let me buy 3 and use both coupons. It is .03 difference, what is the big deal. This happened at 2 different stores.

13 Charlotte December 22, 2008 at 3:05 pm

I went to my WAGS this morning around 8:15 (they open at 8) and there were probably still 8 or so dryers on the shelf. What a great freebie!

14 Amyd December 22, 2008 at 3:05 pm

I went at 9 am today and they had one left. Grabbed it and when I got home I checked it out. Nice, lightweight and I like the grip handle. Why they don’t stock more of these items is beyond me!

I asked about the hair dryers at my Walgreens. They said that the reason they were on sale with a rebate was because they were being discontinued. That is the reason so many stores only had a couple of them. They could not order more. I checked 2 stores and they said they sold out within the first hour.

Thanks, I got my blowdryer this morning! AND I got a quickbooks pro for free from staples thanks to southern savers. I blogged about it here

I got to Walgreens and waited outside with 3 others (in the freezing cold!) to get the hair dryer. The manager opened the stored we raced back to the aisle and there were 3 there. The others who waited in thier warm cars missed out… so yeah- our wags sold out in about 1 minute! :)

18 Jennifer December 22, 2008 at 6:32 pm

I went at 10 AM and they were all sold out, and had been for a while, as was the other location in town (at least the clerk saved me a trip by telling me that!). I bet they only had about half a dozen to start with; they don’t seem to be good about ordering extras of the things in their ads.

19 Kristin NOrton December 22, 2008 at 10:45 pm

My math might be off but the reach toothbrushes aren’t free. They are close. THey are normally 1.59. With the in -ad coupon they subract .60 per brush to make them .99. So if you buy 2 at 1.59 and use the BOGO coupon then your subtotal is 1.59. Then give the in -ad coupon and that will subtract 1.20 (.60 for each toothbrush) That leaves you with .39 for two toothbrushes. Not bad, but not free or a moneymaker. Am I wrong here?

20 Beth December 22, 2008 at 10:45 pm

I got one at 11:00, the checker said they only had four total. She said that she was going to buy one but didn’t think it was right because they were so limited. I already have one but I am sure that someone is going to need it and then I will have it for them!!!

21 gidget December 22, 2008 at 10:45 pm

None in my area either. I complained on walgreens.com. We’ll see if they have any response…

22 Molly December 23, 2008 at 10:03 am

Has anyone else had problems with items being scanned at the regular price when they are on sale. It happened to me today, but I didn’t check my reciept until late in the day. I got a refund, but do I need be more observant? Sometimes I can’t figure out the recipets.
