Just so people are not surprised, the bonus is not really “automatic.” There is a little slip on your gift card/e-certificate that you tear off and mail in with your address and phone number. Still definitely worth getting all your loose change together, but not as easy as I thought it was going to be when I went yesterday.
Can you break up the $40 amount into more than one gift card?
Do all locations allow you to roll the amount onto a gift card? I don’t see that as an option in my area.
I got a gift card for my husband for christmas with my swagbucks!
Julie, if you go on the Coinstar website you can look up the options at each location. Many of them don’t have a gift card option, but do have the Ecertificate. The ones near me that have gift cards don’t offer any that I want, so I’m going to get the Amazon online certificate. You can get pretty much anything on Amazon
Nope, it does not work at all locations. I got gypped out of $4 bucks (conversion fee!) Oh well you win some, you lose some

It may be worth it to call around to local banks in your area. One of ours – a National City has a coin counter that is free all the time. You do not have to have an account there to count it. The only drawback is that you have to go while they are open.
