I have found their restrictions to be too limiting. Last time they offered this promotion, I worked so hard to maximize my coupons only to find as I was checking out that I needed to buy $60 worth of non-sale items to use all 4 coupons and that nothing could end up being free.

After discussing it with the cashier and then the supervisor, I gave up and have not been back since.

Don’t think we have that in Berwick PA. Maybe next week?

Hi,

We had these doublers last week in WV- at Martin’s. I dont think they have them this week too, here. I’m gonna check though! If you still have the sales paper from last week, you can use the 2.00 off milk coupon when you buy 2 boxes of poptarts, and use the 1.00/2 poptarts coupon from a recent insert for cheap milk and poptarts. Also, the Ronzoni Smartaste is a money maker with the $1/1 coupons

Heidi, perhaps your store is interpretting the rules differently. I have done this deal many times (I’m the linked blog) and I’ve never had to put in more than $15. I can usually find enough other things I need at good prices – especially since Giant doubles 99 cent and below coupons all the time – that I can do well. The flyer specifically says that overage will not be given, but items that would work out to overage are free. Despite that, several stores in my area DO give you the overage. If your store wants you to spend more and won’t give you things for free, I agree, that’s an awful deal.

Giant seems to have some variation in timing and in rules – I find this every time I post these things. But I think the majority of them do have the same timing and rules. My guess is individual stores always have the right to do things their own way. Sorry about that!

Jennifer
