Glade scented oil candles and holder, dewberry dreams

Target currently is running a gift card deal which can net you some free Glade Scented Oil candles (as if many of you didn't have enough of those already!). Buy any four Holiday Glade items and you'll get a $5 Target gift card. The items in the Holiday line include Apple Cinnamon, Cinnamon Gingerbread, and Glistening Snow scents.

Here's how you can get them free:

Buy 4 Glade Scented Oil candle starter kits at $2.50 each
Use 2 B1G1 coupons (you can print 2 here and here)
Spend $5 plus tax out of pocket
Get a $5 gift card back

It's being reported that some of the candles also have B1G1 and $2/1 coupons in them so if your store is well-stocked with candles, you might be able to do this deal over and over again only paying tax each time (or less if you have the $2/1 coupons–see Mercedes' post here). These starter kits would make great fillers in gift baskets for Christmas or a nice hostess gift to bring to Christmas parties.

Thanks, Mercedes, for passing along this deal!

Kroger (midwest) is also printing $4 catalinas on the Glade Scented Oil Candles but they are definitely not $2.50! I think they were “on sale” for $7.99.

beth f October 29, 2008 at 8:55 pm

both links are no longer giving away coupons. :(

Lura October 29, 2008 at 9:26 pm

The second link says that some offer is no longer available, BUT the coupon link is on the bottom right hand side of that page. I just used both links and was able to print 2 coupons from each one.

Danielle October 29, 2008 at 9:27 pm

At 10:24PM, I was able to get both sites to print coupons (2 from each). On the first one (coupons.com) you may have to search through the pages to find it, but it was on mine. The second link (the Glade website), it says the deal is not available, but in the bottom right corner it has a place that says you can get your coupon for buy 1 get 1 free Glade scented oil starter kit. When I clicked on it, it brought me to a form and then I could print the coupon. Good luck to you!

If anyone lives near a Publix, there are blinkie machines there with q’s for $2/1 glade scented oil candle or refill:) The machines are right above the air freshener section.

Jenny October 29, 2008 at 9:34 pm

They do work, on the Glade Website–click the link at the bottom of the page that says something like, “Buy One Get One Free–Print Your Coupon Now” It’ll take you to the page you need.

Thanks for all the tips…also I tagged You! Check out http://goodorfreedeals.blogspot.com

There’s blinkies out there that has $2 off too! I wonder how to do this in Target. Does the cashier automatically get prompted by the register to give us a GC or do we have to remind the cashier to give it to us? I just don’t want create a scene w/ my coupons hehehe

Michelle October 29, 2008 at 10:43 pm

I just printed my coupons! Thanks!

K. Anne October 29, 2008 at 10:53 pm

My Target had this sale the other week, but you only got a GC if you purchased a certain magazine as well. I forget what magazine it was, as it wasn’t one that I was interested in.

Kim W October 29, 2008 at 11:42 pm

Is this in the sale ad? It isn’t in mine. I don’t want to waste a trip if this isn ‘t on sale at my Target!

Also, go to http://www.glade.com and on the bottom left hand corner it says buy one get one free offer….good luck!

Amanda October 30, 2008 at 1:26 am

Is this in the store ads? I don’t see it in mine, so I was wondering if it’s not going on in our area….

TriStateSaver October 30, 2008 at 5:45 am

If you go to coupons.com it is there and also, I don’t know why the glade link doesn’t work but if you go to glade.com, at the bottom you will see a link for special offers at the bottom and the offer is still there. Maybe you can’t direct link to the offer? But it lets you register for the coupon.

Nancy October 30, 2008 at 5:58 am

I just printed two coupons at each link. Thanks for the tip!

E.M.C. October 30, 2008 at 7:05 am

the links aren’t working anymore! *sniffs*

Amanda Johnson October 30, 2008 at 7:17 am

Do the coupons just for the Holder actually work for this deal?

Leanne October 30, 2008 at 7:28 am

I was able to get a coupon off the first link, but not the second.

Leanne October 30, 2008 at 7:34 am

I was just able to print a coupon from this link – http://www.glade.com/offers.aspx?offerId=102

marybeth October 30, 2008 at 7:38 am

The links both worked for me!

lee October 30, 2008 at 8:07 am

Where did u find the target deal? I love in Florida and wanted to be sure the deal was here before i went to Target, also how do u get he gift card? Does the cashier know to give u one or does it come in the mail? (sorry i’m a newb)

niki October 30, 2008 at 8:28 am

Just wanted to note that not all Targets have this same deal. Mine also requires that we buy InStyle magazine to get the gift card.
:(

Amy October 30, 2008 at 8:29 am

Pretty sure this is regional. It is not in the ads for Portland area(OR). :(
Very sad……I LOVE candles!

Marli October 30, 2008 at 8:49 am

my Target (DFW – TX) doesn’t have any sort of deal on this, atleast in the ad. I’ll have to check when I go by there to see if maybe it was unadvertised or something. :(

Kalla October 30, 2008 at 9:19 am

The deal is you buy 4 Glade holiday holders or plugins or refils at 2.50 each. There is a 2/1 in all you for the holder and a b2g1 for the refils. The best part is that when you buy them there are coupons for the same products. 2/1 the holder and b2g1! YEAH!

Amy October 30, 2008 at 9:36 am

This is not in ANY ad – but you will see it in the store. And, yes, the cashier is prompted to give the gift card after the 4 candles are rung up – you do not need to buy the magazine.

jenny October 30, 2008 at 9:57 am

I did this a few days ago, but I hear you are supposed to buy a magazine as well to get the giftcard…. a $3.99 magazine at that!

There are blinkie for $2 off in Shaws and Stop and Shop stores in CT. Does anyone know how long this deal goes for or if it’s working in CT? Thank so much!

Natalia Martell October 30, 2008 at 10:32 am

I do it and buy 11 candles holders and received 2 GC for $5 each, I didnt buy the magazine. It was a surprise for me I didnt know about it. And I get the Q in K-mart blinkie machine. For me works.

Amy West October 30, 2008 at 10:41 am

Anyone know if Target will take a B1G1 AND a $2 off coupon?
I know kroger, cvs, walgreens, would but not sure about Target.

thanks!
Was able to print both!

Mari October 30, 2008 at 10:43 am

I did this last week. You do need to purchase Instyle Magazine with the candles. The mag is $3.99. The holiday candles set with apple cinnamon were priced at $2.50 less $2.00 Q’s Total was $5.99 with mag & 4 candles less $5.00 gift card was $.99. Still not a bad deal if you have the right q’s.

Jennifer October 30, 2008 at 10:56 am

There were also some coupons in All You (Nov 21), page 40 I think! I’m going to check my Target since I was planning on going there today anywhere. Hope this deal is available!

donna October 30, 2008 at 1:40 pm

i just got them in NJ. They only have 4 left in the store.
I used B1G1 and 2 $2 off coupons. My total was $1 and I got back $5 in a GC.
Thank you for posting this!!!

Toni October 30, 2008 at 1:43 pm

I just got back from my target in Fl. and the cashier was prompted to give me the gc after just 3 candles! No magazine necessary, although the sign said so. There was only apple cinnamon left, but free (more then free)is for me! Each candle had a $2 coupon in it! happy hunting!

crystal October 30, 2008 at 2:02 pm

Has anyone found the scented oil candles in socal? I went to 3 different targets and only found the candles in a jar. I could even find a tag where the candle holders should be so I could get a raincheck. Anyone else have this problem?

Stell October 30, 2008 at 2:24 pm

Do you use both coupons (even though the say you can not) in the same transaction? Or do you do two separate transactions? I’m kinda confused. I’m really new to all this… Thanks for the help!!

jomamascakes October 30, 2008 at 6:15 pm

This deal worked in CT today. There wasn’t a sign up on the display, but after scanning 4 of the Holiday Scented Oil Candle Holders the computer prompted the cashier to give me a gift card. After that I tried to give her 2 $2 blinkies and 2 BOGO coupons. The first 2 blinkies and the first BOGO scanned but the second would not. I gave her another $2 blinkie coupon to try and it went through. My total was $1.30 something and I got the $5 giftcard back! Trouble is there were only 4 of the SO Candles in the whole store. Good news is the $2.50 is regular price, not a sale so you can so this all the way up to December 15th. Hopefully they get a big shipment before then!! :) If not, I may be willing to part with some of my blinkies to someone whose store is better-stocked! I have 130 of them from standing at the blinkie machine like a coupon crazed fool for almost an hour :) !!!

LizzyLanguage October 30, 2008 at 7:27 pm

You’ve got to come see what I got at Target – Unbelievable!

heather October 30, 2008 at 7:28 pm

I was wondering about the two coupons as well.. My coupon sais that you can only use one coupon per purchase. Do I have to do two seperate transactions?

Rach October 30, 2008 at 7:50 pm

The link worked for me, but Target didn’t give me a gift card…they advertised it but the computer didn’t prompt the cashier to give me one, so I didn’t get one. When I questioned it she acted like I was really inconveniencing her…so I had her take it all off of my bill.

The funny thing is the coupons still stayed on the bill, so even though I didn’t get the candles I got $4 off applied to other stuff!

mamajoscakes October 30, 2008 at 9:52 pm

Maybe that’s why my second coupon did not scan. The computer took 1 of my BOGO coupons and 3 of my blinkie $2 off coupons and my total was a dollar and change. I think that’s the best deal out there! Happy hunting! I know the blinkies are in a lot of grocery stores now.

Nataly October 30, 2008 at 10:15 pm

I got best deal today. I paid 75c for 4 Oil warmer refills used 4 free Warmer peelies from Walgreens and got the $5 GC.

Julie October 31, 2008 at 9:50 am

I got my Glade candles last night and the gift card back. The holiday scented candles were not with the regular display for Glade, but on an end cap by the cash registers. I didn’t think our Target carried them until I was about to check out and saw them. Ours was priced at 2.50, but did not advertise the gift card. I was buying them anyway, because it was a good deal with the BOGO coupons, but then the cashier was prompted to give me a gift card. So exciting!

Jasmine October 31, 2008 at 1:12 pm

Do these packages actually contain candles?

Angie October 31, 2008 at 1:19 pm

okay so went to local Target here in Arnold, Missouri and yeah they have no sorta deal like this – very sad day in history what a shame, i looked at the add they had after i checked out and nope sure enough they aren’t in there guess i’ll save and hopefully it’ll work in near future. Thanks for heads up though.

Sonya October 31, 2008 at 8:54 pm

my nc target said 5 dollar gc if you buy 4 glade products OR instyle mag.

Lana October 31, 2008 at 10:52 pm

Bad experience…Target personal told me that they could not accept 2 manf. coupons even though I was ringing up 4 candles. I even called corporate and they told me I’d have to buy 6 candles to use the 2 coupons.

I was frustrated more by the attitude of the clerk. It so funny to me now, thinking – they are just candles. Their lost b/c they would have been reimb. by the manuf. :)

Merideth November 1, 2008 at 11:37 am

This is definitely a ‘per store’ sale….so check with your local store. I had a horrible ordeal yesterday at my local Target. Even though the sign is posted as including the items I bought (+ an Instyle Magazing)…I STILL did not receive the gift card. When asking to speak to a manager on the side, the manager informed me that she had receieved an email earlier that day about which items were actually included in this promotion..and that even though the items I bought were ‘signed’, they are not included. Needless to say, it was one of those less-than-satisfactory experiences…and that’s putting it nicely. So..girls…check the signs thoroughly and then still be prepared to return items if need-be. Hold this deal with open hands. ;)

******************
Money Saving Mom here: I would heartily encourage you to call corporate about this. If a store is less-than-nice to you or refuses to honor a deal that is posted, corporate needs to hear about it. Be polite, be courteous, and you’ll likely see some results. And you’ll also likely help this store become more friendly to deal-shoppers in the process.

I’m sorry you had such a difficult experience; those are never fun!
