KMart is doing it again! Many stores around the nation are offering Super Double Coupons from October 1 (that’s today!) through October 5, 2008. And this time around, the Olathe and Overland Park stores in the KC-area are included! Now if only I felt up to hot-and-heavy couponing!
The list of stores participating is here (thanks to Mercedes). However, Christy emailed and said:
I called my local Kmart and they said they were NOT participating. So, I called the Kmart Customer line @ 1-866-KMART-4-U and talked with a rep. I asked her for a list of participating stores and she said this was for all stores. I asked her how I could let my store know that they were to honor this and she put me on hold while she called and told them how to key it it manually!
So, tell your readers to call their local Kmart first and if they say no tell them to call the customer serv. # and let the rep call their store. She said all Kmart stores are to honor this deal.
I would love to hear if others of you have the same experience. Wouldn’t it be cool if this deal was truly nationwide?
There are some exclusions and details which need to be noted: Coupons up to and including $2 will be doubled. No overage will be giving. Only 4 of the same coupon may be used per transaction. Limit of 75 coupons per customer per day. No printable coupons will be accepted.
That said, there are likely plenty of great deals to be had. Mercedes lists a bunch of deals she came up with here. If you come up with others or post about deal you find, please email me the link so I can add it to this post.
It’s been so long since any store around here has had super doubles, I just might work up the courage to hit KMart myself! We’ll see!

Oh joy! I just returned from KMart… my first coupon doubling ever! When I got there and asked, nobody, even the managers had heard of it! But when the coupons scanned, they automatically doubled.

I am so excited about this Kmart deal! I found out my store was participating at 10 pm last night, so I stayed up late getting my coupons ready. I just got home and my total before coupons was $170 and after coupons was $24!!!!

Hi!
Does anyone know how K-Mart will work a $3 coupon? Will they still ‘double’ it to create $5 off? Should I call?
Thanks!
[Reply]
For those that have made the trip…Please Please tell us what you are getting with matchups for FREE!!!
[Reply]
I am highly upset that our Kmart is not participating. They don’t have that many stores, so I don’t understand why they don’t do this nationwide…..
[Reply]
I called my K Mart and they said they were not participating however the customer service line did tell me that they have too so alert the customer service at your store to check with headquarters if they question it.
[Reply]
Bit the bullet and called K-Mart. CS rep told me they would do NOTHING if a coupon is over $2. I thought grocery stores that double would do that though….just give you the $2 extra. Anyone have experience with this at K-Mart with the recent double days?
[Reply]
I called the 800-kmart-4u number and was assured by the rep that all stores will honor the double promotion and they in fact all received a note from corporate telling them to.
The thing is, that if they are not on the list, you have to ask for the doubles! Then they are supposed to honor it.
As a back up, I have the number on my cell phone and am prepared to call it while in the store.

What if the coupon says “Do not double” or “not subject to doubling”?
Do they still do it? I’m about to head out here pretty soon!
[Reply]
Straight From the Horses Mouth! I emailed corporate and this is there response! Hopefully this will clear up any confusions about the promotion!
We have listed the details of the requested promotion below.
Amount of credit from [doubling or tripling] a coupon cannot exceed the retail price of an item. No cash or in-store purchase credit will be awarded for any amount exceeding the retail price of the item. Limit 1 coupon for each item purchased. Only 1 coupon will be [doubled or tripled] per item. You may only purchase 4 of the same item using double coupons. Coupons do not apply to sales tax. Limit 75 coupons per customer per day. Internet coupons or copies of manufacturer instant coupons are not valid. Offer excludes products prohibited by law, including but not limited to alcohol, tobacco, and prescription medication. Not valid on non-merchandise, federal or state regulated items, prior purchases, Lands’ End, Sears merchandise rung on Sears registers within Kmart and Kmart.com. In the event of a return, coupon savings may be deducted from refund. Sears Holdings (Kmart) reserves the right to modify or cancel this program at any time.

My local KMart also said they are not participating but the national line said they are. They said that the local store just needs to call them and they will walk them through the process – I’m stoked! It’s stock up time!!!!!!!!!1

The CS Rep my mom talked to said as far as he knew they’d give the $2 extra. Gotta love when you can’t get the same answer

I just talked to our local store and the manager there refuses to even call the costumer service number and ASK about this. His exact words were , unless i hear from them, we re not participating. So i ve been trying to call the costumer service line, but that number STAYS busy!!
I m a little mad, to say the least….
[Reply]
I just called our local Kmart and was told by the manager they were not honoring or participating in this program. I then took the advice to call the 800# for Customer Service. I shared with them about this problem and was told I had to take an ad in showing the doubling deal and then they would have to honor it. I told her I didn’t have an ad, and that I found this on the internet. They told me there wasn’t anything they could do if I didn’t have an ad! They didn’t offer to call the store either and suggest they honor this either. This is a huge bummer. In Iowa (where we live) we don’t have a single store that doubles coupons ever

You can also sign up at Kmart.com and they will email you a $5 off printable coupon. It takes a day or so to get it but it should be here in time!

I am compiling a list of products for the double coupons at Kmart…if you have your list please come post it as a comment! This list is coming from various sites and the ad itself! This is a great resource for items to look out for on your shopping trips! The list will be updated as I find more deals or people post more deals! I hope that this will help a lot of you out! You should be able to just copy and paste it into a word doc…to print out!

Actually here is a printable $5 off $50 printable coupon – http://f.chtah.com/i/9/381647815/KM_EA_092808.pdf?sid=iexKmartxCustCarex00014
Total is calculated before taxes and discounts so you should be able to use it on any purchase that totals $50 even with coupons.

I just went to K-Mart (northern VA). I got $81 worth of items for 19.98. I was able to get more than 4 of a single item, all with coupons. I didn’t see on the flyer where it said limit 4. Mostly I bought Shampoo:
Pert Plus: 4.99 – 2coup = .99
Sunsilk and Dove were a good deal too!

I went to my local KMart. I asked the customer service desk about this. They said they had not heard it was supposed to be going on. So I then called the 1-866 number and talked to someone there and they told me that yes they should honor it as a courtesy to me. So I go to the desk and this lady was rude. I told her “I talked to customer service and they said if you have a problem to call them” so instead she starts calling the closest 15 stores to see if they are doing it. She was wasting my time probably in hopes I would just leave. I said “no you need to call this 1-866 number. So then she called up the assistant manager to the store. He told me he hadnt heard about it and I dialed the number and handed him MY phone. He talked to them and he said “well since they told you we would do it for you then we have to” Then he leaves this incompetant customer service person to help me. She sat there making more phone calls and told me she didnt know how to do it and wasnt going to be able to double it. Needless to say they will be hearing plenty of complaints from me!!!!!!!!!!

I had a great experience this morning in OH! I got 26 items for under $17.00 ($3 tax). Details and picture are on my blog!

Grand Rapids, MI area stores are not participating and the 800# was not helpful either. They said my area is not part of “phase 2″ of this plan – whatever that means. The $5 off internet coupon e-mails as soon as you sign up, I printed it out while waiting for the 800# to pick up. Bummer that I can’t use it. Already told hubby what I wanted to stock up on.

Called my local Kmart and no they aren’t doubling called customer service number and she checked “list” to see if any stores in my area are doubling and answer came back as NO – I was so ready to roll on over there… Hope all you that have a double store are enjoying the deals perhaps those of us that don’t have the double will get our chance sometime…. Oh, I live in Gettysburg PA area…

Hi…just talked to the costumer service rep at K-mart headquarters after talking with my local K-mart. Apparently if the managers feel like honoring the double coupons they will and if they don’t they won’t. Each store gets to decide. So nationwide the option is there but it’s up to each individual manger. Hope this helps and I would reccomend checking your store first before going in.
[Reply]
I called my store and they said they aren’t participating, so then I emailed customer service and they said that not all stores are required to participate! Sounds like nobody knows for sure what is going on!

I just called my local KMart in Greensboro, NC and the man that answered the phone said that they are doing the double coupons two weeks from today on the 13th.
[Reply]
It really does sound like nobody is on the same page here. I emailed customer service and they told me
“We apologize for the confusion. Not all K-Mart stores are participating in this offer. However, all K-Mart stores in the United States have been instructed to honor the double coupons if the customer requests that they do so. If your local store does not honor the coupons, please let us know and we will work with them to ensure that they are honoring the offer. Again, we apologize that there was so much confusion on the double coupon offer. We appreciate your business and value you as a Sears Holdings customer. We certainly hope you will continue to make Sears Holdings your choice for quality and value.”

I called my store and the customer service line. I live in Omaha, NE and our area was not chosen to test this. Totally bummer. I am living on such a tight budget right now, and was excited about making my money stretch. Glad to see some people are able to get such great deals.

Went over to my local Kmart and was told they were not participating. Called 866-KMART4U in the store, was told that not all stores are participating and sorry for the inconvenience. Came home, read about everyone else’s fun and thought I would call again. This time spoke with Robert, who told me ALL managers have been instructed to honor the double coupon off when a customer requests it at the customer service desk (which I had done.) He entered info into my file (didn’t know they had one on me – eek!) and asked that if I decided to go back during the promotion dates to call them as soon as I got to the store and they would call the manager on duty to assist me immediately.
Maybe I will try again this weekend when hubby can watch the little ones.
[Reply]
Christy again everyone. Iam so sorry to hear the problems everyone is having. total bummer! Congrats to those who are successful.
Also, when I spoke with the customer service rep yesterday she told me they WOULD take internet coupons.
I cannot go until payday tomorrow and will report my hassle lol. I will also argue the internet coupons too. Cross fingers.
Everyone who has a valid complaint, should complain to Kmart. I spoke with customer service on this 3 seperate times and all 3 times they assured me this was for ALL Kmarts.

I went to the Kmart on Plainfield today. The store manager there said that they were doing it!
I grabbed my stuff, took it to customer service (not a regular checkout) and the lady there doubled every coupon I had! I was under $5 total for almost $30 worth of stuff.
A friend of mine who went with me got $30 of stuff for under $4!
I’m posting our finds on my blog later tonight or tomorrow morning.

I heard about KMart’s double coupon days for various stores, but then I was informed the coupon doubling promotion is applicable to ALL store locations. I called my local store in Goleta, CA, and the customer service representative had no idea about the promotion. I explained it to her, and she promptly replied that the store is not participating.
Is this coupon doubling promotion a voluntary promotion based on individual store managers, or are all stores required to participate?
Thank you for your help.

Actually, the $5/$50 coupon says “total is calculated before taxes and AFTER other discounts have been applied”, meaning coupons. So, they may not let you use it on a pre-coupon total. Just wanted to warn you all.

I overheard the manager at my Kmart saying that they can accept IP coupons, but they can not double the IP coupons. I didn’t try to use any so I can’t confirm that but that is what she said! I went for a 2nd trip tonight and bought 142 worth of stuff for just over $20!!

Hi! First, I’m happy that many of you have gotten great deals – glad someone is! I’m also sorry so many are not getting the double deals in your area. For what it’s worth, a store a bit out of the way participated for the first time, so I took the bait, but was really disappointed. First, the prices seemed overinflated – not many deals to be had. Some things even seemed “marked up,” for the sale – for example, Lysol normally sold for 4.14, and was suddenly “on sale” 2/$9. At the register, the clerk was confused, and so was I – I spent so long arguing with her about a gum coupon that finally I just said “put it back, forget it!” and went home with everything else. Later puzzling over my receipt, which still seemed too high, I found that I had been overcharged $3 for a toy I bought as a gift. Too far to return to complain, but I emailed. Overall, I don’t feel that I saved much at all – I think I do better at local grocery sales and Walgreens. Not to rain on anyone’s parade, but just a warning to watch the prices closely on the register.

My husband and I went last night around 10:30. I just took a few coupons to see if they were doing it and since I didn’t have a lot of ‘free’ cash at the moment I didn’t want to overspend. We got two bottles of the gilette shampoo, three bottles of pert plus shampoo, 1 glade candle holder, 1 glade carpet fresh, 1 Endust, 1 Dawn Foam Refill and 2 Old El Paso Taco Shells. Everything was free except the dawn foam refill, I paid $1.29 for it. I went through my coupons when I got home and will try for some more saving tomorrow.

I had lots of fun at my Kmart today! My Kmart was not on the list so I called and the manager said that they would honor the deal. YIPPPPPPEEEEEE!
I spent $45.xx for $138.xx worth of items. I was very pleased. I was selective because some of the Kmart prices were higher than prices at my CVS, Walgreens and Kroger. For the most part, I only used coupons that were $1 or higher.
One of my best deals was for Fruit of the Loom pocket tee shirts. They are on sale this week and I still had $1 off 2 coupons from the Sunday paper. My husband wears the navy blue ones under his work shirts and I stocked up. After coupons I only paid $1 for each shirt!
I am going to look through my coupons again and will be heading back tomorrow night!
Thanks for posting this information.

Well, I’m never doing THAT again.
I dislike Kmart as it is, but now I REALLY have a reason to dislike them. The registers have only one screen, and it’s BEHIND the cashier, several feet away from customers, and it almost impossible for the customer to read. Thus, I was helpless when she rang up items (I couldn’t tell if they rang up the correct price), and helpless when she scanned the coupons (I couldn’t see if they were doubling correctly). It wasn’t until after I left that I found out that several coupons didn’t double (they were only $1, come on!) and several didn’t even scan at all. I lost $8 to a bad cashier, and there was no way to PROVE it to customer service.
And don’t get me started on how ridiculously inflated their prices are! I could use that same coupon, un-doubled, at Walmart or CVS and get a better deal. It’s not worth it to shop at Kmart — even on a double coupon day.

Wow. I just got back from K-Mart and snagged $120 worth of stuff for $60! (Check out my blog for the full story:
http://thedimedivas.blogspot.com/2008/10/fabulous-and-k-martin-same-sentence.html)
It seems that even if you use a coupon for $3, they will “double” it up to $2 – so you’d get $5 off. This is such a fantastic promotion. I hope K-Mart does it often.

This is the email I received from C.S. regarding the double coupons, maybe if you print it out and show it to the kmart Manager they will HAVE to honor it!

So, made the trip today only to find out that only certain nationwide stores are doing the promotion. There are what they call “Ad Stores” Mine was not and they said that they asked if they could be but they were not physically able to key it in manually. If you are driving very far, make sure you call to check.

I live in Western NY, I called my NF store and they said they would honor it– I made out very very well, be sure to look for coupons in the shampoo isle, I got Suave Shampoo for free after using the 1.00 Manf coupon in the isle. 1.49- 1×2 = Free, you can use as many coupons as you would like and really stock up. As a teacher I get asked to make a lot of donations of “health and beauty products” to various organizations that help young women, they will love the shampoo and it was free!

I went to my local KMart today, and after spending an hour finding all the good buys, the cashier told me they weren’t doubling coupons. I asked to talk to a supervisor and explained that KMart Corp. had authorized doubling nationwide. She called another manager, and he said that because our area ran the promotion 2 weeks ago, they weren’t runnng it again this week. Hubby said we just needed to pay for our stuff and go, so I paid the $70 bill (after $30 in single coupons) and left the store pretty upset.
But that’s not the end of the story! I came home and called Kmart Corp. They said that the rules on this promo are changing every day, but today the promo is nationwide. They took my info and said my local KMart manager would call me and make things right…He called within a couple hours and offered to give me the $30 that I should have had taken off my bill on a KMart cash card. I just have to go back to the store sometime next week to pick it up. Hopefully it’s a happy ending!

Back from KMart. Customer service refunded $30 (from coupons that should have doubled) back onto my credit card, and after returning a few things that rang up too high the other day, I left almost $70 richer! KMart might be growing on me a little…
