Does anyone else feel like Walgreens has become the new CVS recently? I couldn’t be happier because we’re likely moving to the land-of-no-CVS next month so I will more than gladly take any and all deals that Walgreens wants to start handing out!
At any rate, Mercedes has unearthed yet another money-maker deal this week: you can make $2 buying six boxes of South Beach Diet bars! Go here for the run-down on how to do it!

Don’t shoot the messenger but to make it even sweeter Walgreens just put out a 10/40 coupon good tomorrow and Saturday. Time to crank out the scenarios.

I just want to thank you for all of the great deals you post. I actually owe you a big thank you for getting me on the “money saving train”.
I somehow stumbled on Baby Cheapskate and followed that and one day I must have found a link for your site. Well, it just so happened to be back in May when you posted about the great money maker at CVS (it was the $4.99 Adidias). I went out and purchased a few “All You’s” and saw how easy the deal work. Anyway, I purchased a bunch more and worked the deal as high as I could (DH’s card and my own).
Anyway, long story short, ever since then I’ve been CVSing to the fullest and have recently (maybe 2 weeks) started working Walgreens.
THANK YOU!!! You have saved me hundreds in a few short months (actually, you’ve saved most of my family hundreds too since I can’t possibly use all the stuff I get for free!) : )
No CVS?!! That would be so hard to wean off of lol But you’re right, as long as Walgreens keeps putting out these great deals you’ll be fine…:)
Thanks so much for posting this information.
Don’t forget to use one of the Kraft coupons from All You to get a free item when you buy three Kraft products! Actually, if you buy six of the South Beach bars you could get two! YIPPPPPPEEEEEE!
I agree about Walgreens being the new CVS–I have been VERY excited about Walgreens the last few weeks.
My only problem is that we don’t have a Walgreens nearby. Luckily, we have had doctor appointments and have gotten a chance to go to a Walgreens.
I wish CVS would start having more appealing deals again.

I’ve only been doing this a few months now, but my impressions are that CVS has more free stuff and moneymakers overall, but Walgreens has more and better deals on stuff that helps me reduce my normal grocery spending. I’ve already gotten more cereal, spaghetti sauce, milk, juice, peanut butter, etc., at Walgreens than I will probably ever get at CVS. It seems like most of CVS’s good deals are on household products, HBA’s, and medicine.
Yes, Walgreens has been offering some really great deals. I have been shopping there a lot more now.
Moving to the land of no CVS? Say it isn’t so!
Well, they seem to be expanding a lot these days, so maybe you’ll get lucky and one will open up right on your new block!
In case you haven’t already seen (but I’m sure you have!
there is a new $10/$40 coupon that was just sent out by Walgreens. I have the URL posted above, or in my blog at addictedtocoupons.blogspot.com. Thanks!
How do you get 6 of those south beach coupons? My computer will only let me print 2.
Yes! I am SO glad my son fell asleep on the way to taking my daughter to preschool today…otherwise I would have gone to Walgreen’s to pass the time & I would have missed this FABULOUS deal for tomorrow! I never shopped at Walgreen’s before reading your blog, but now I am a regular, and I am building up my stockpile. Thank you Crystal! Can’t wait to shop tomorrow!
Hehehe! All the Walgreens employees pretty much hate me now. When I walk in the door they all are thinking “Oh no, here comes the coupon lady again”
I don’t care though, I just left there and I made like a bandit! I saved about $65 and only spent about $12.
Beware, I’m sure some of you already know this but I learned my lesson today:
I got the $10 Robitussin RR back in the first transaction.
Then I used it in my second transaction (which included 3 Dimetap) and therefore no second $10 printed out for the Dimetap.
Just a heads up!

The nearest CVS to me is an hour away! =( I don’t get to go as much as I would like. My poor sister however lives in Jeff City, MO and apparently that is also the land of no CVS. She is so envious of all of the deals I tell her about and can’t wait to visit so I can show her all about “cvsing”.
Not that I needed another incentive, but I just got a $10 off of $40 in my inbox! Wow.
What to do if you only have 2 south beach bars coupons?
Here’s my plan, since I still have some of the All You free wyb3 coupons:
Buy 2 South Beach Living Bar packs, counts $5.00 toward the $15 walgreens kraft 5/15, use my 2 2.00/1 IPs, pay only $1.00 up-front
Buy 3 other qualifying $2.50 items, doesn’t matter what, to bring the walgreens kraft 5/15 qualifying total to $12.50 and my up-front cost to $8.50
Add 1 box of wheat thins $2.50 and use a free All You coupon, which brings walgreens kraft 5/15 qualifying total to $15.00 but my up-front cost stays $8.50.
Then get rebate of $5.50 (counting 10% gc bonus), for a net cost of $3 for 6 items, or 50c ea.
Actually I will probably throw in 1 mac n cheese for $1.79 to make my paid kraft items equal 6 so I can use another free wheat thins coupon. That would bring my total net cost to $4.79 for 8 items, or 60c ea. And of course waiting til tomorrow and using the 10/40 will help too.
2 questions:
1. What do the other 5/15 qualifying items cost that are not on sale this week, like the CapriSun 10 Packs, Crystal Light On The Go 10 Packs, and Crystal Light 2.1 oz. pkgs?
2. Is the 1.79 (2/3.00) mac n cheese the cheapest kraft item available to use for the free wyb 3 cpns? I know it doesn’t count toward the walgreens kraft 5/15 rebate.
I was just envisioning another scenario where I buy 18 mac n cheese (counts $27 toward $40 for 10/40) and 6 wheat thins coupons (counts $15 toward $40 for 10/40 and fulfills $15 for kraft rebate), then use 10/40, 6 all you free wheat thins, and then send off for kraft rebate: 42 – 10 – 15 – 5.50 = net cost $11.50 for 24 products, or 48c ea.
way to go Walgreens!
I was sooo stoked to try my first Walgreens purchase yesterday. Since I haven’t shopped there EVER, I was prepared to buy the free after rebate items with the $10/$40 coupon and also get the South Beach Bars (which DH happens to love). When I got there there wasn’t ONE item that I could get. No South Beach Bars, and not ONE single free after rebate item!! I was so saddened and stunned. The cashier told me that a shipment was coming and to try again on Sunday (today), but the coupon wouldn’t be good until then….guess I know why CVS is still my #1!!
