There isn’t a $3 coupon on the Robitussin site. All I received was a $1 coupon. Did they change the value on their website?

Just a head’s up on the Visine. The price at my Walgreens is $3.99 AFTER the Easy Saver coupon, not before so it will still cost a dollar.

I did the Robitussin deal at Walgreen’s tonight. The only problem I had was choosing the CORRECT ones. There are some that are $3.99 and some that are buy 1 get one free (price around $6). So look closely at the tags.

Hey–I have done the Robitussin deal multiple times this week! I feel sort of bad about it, but the Robitussin site lets you print out as many coupons as you want, so I did. I have had some stores tell me that the Register Rewards didn’t print because I used coupons, but most of the time when they called over the manager, he/she either voided the transaction and did it again or just gave me $10 in cash! I have also had some stores tell me that I could only use 1 coupon instead of 3, but most have taken all 3 coupons at once. I think I’ve learned one small thing, though, that might help some of you: the register rewards only seem to print when the 3 Robitussin are exactly the same formula. If you try to combine a Cold and Cough, a Cold, and a Nighttime Flu (for example), you probably won’t get a register reward. When I’ve done this with 3 bottles of the same formula, I’ve gotten the $10 register reward almost every time. I also always make sure to ask the cashier first if his/her register has been printing rewards recently–I think a lot of the stores near me have broken machines, but the cashiers seem to know which registers have working machines, so be sure to ask. Hope that helps some of you!
Also, does anyone have any suggestions for what I should do with all these bottles of Robitussin? I was thinking of just donating them to my church, but if anyone has another suggestion, let me know!

Thanks for the tip on Robitussin, as well as comments from others. I live in Oakland, CA, and was able to use my printable $3/1 coupons with no problem. I also made sure to have an overall total of $10 or more, and the RR printed with no problem. I just looked at it as getting my “overage” early and getting reimbursed for it with the RR, if that makes sense.

Here’s a brain-twister: Does anyone know if you roll RR to another different RR deal, do you have to have a final total after any RR used that equals the amount of RR you will generate on deal #2? It would seem to me that even if you can “roll” them, if you had to have a final amount equal to the new RR generated that you would just keep on slowly putting money into the system.

So I have been sick with a cold, and really did need more Robitussin. So I went to Walgreeens. First, the girl tried to tell me they couldn’t accept more than one copy of a coupon. I told her I had NEVER heard that before, and then the pharmacist (I was in the back) came over and told her to just scan them. After using my coupons, the RR wouldn’t print. After talking to a very nice manager, he scanned the Robitussin in order to trigger the RR to print, and then explained that it doesn’t so much have to do with using coupons as it does the amount of money spent. He said the computers are waiting for a certain amount to be spent before they print the rewards, and usually a deal with work with coupons if you buy double the amount of the original deal (ie: 6 bottle of Robitussin instead of 3). That’s just what he said – it doesn’tt make any sense to me!

RR’s were not printing (they said it was all day) but she was putting the amount onto my gc…no big problems.

As CVS has not impressed me lately, I have to say I was happy with Walgreens today. I did a pretty good trip at WalGreens today with the Robitussin/Dimetapp money-maker deals, free oust, and Scrubbing Bubbles deal.

Summary:

RRs:$33.98
September rebate: $16.77
TOTAL OOP (on gc): $6.29

This week I’ve done the Robitussin deal three times, the scrubbing bubbles deal once, and the tylenol/benadryl deal once. I haven’t had any trouble using coupons, except for the tylenol/benadryl deal. That one didn’t print, but the manager was nice enough to write me out a $4 RR, which I promptly turned around and used for the Robitussin deal. I did have one issue,which was this: I got a $10 RR for the Robitussin deal, which was then rolled into the Scrubbing bubbles deal. At first, the register didn’t want to take the RR. The associate was trying to tell me that it was because I used coupons, but I defuncted that. I grabbed the RR and read the fine print and noticed two things: 1) the total must be greater than the RR (and I would say before taxes, just to be safe) and 2) you must have more items than coupons, so make sure that you count the number of coupons that you have and add in inexpensive fillers if necessary. This is especially important if you are using an IVC and a MFC for one item. This week chapstick is BOGO for 99 cents, or knee-highs are another inexpensive item that most everyone needs. Once I started doing the above, I haven’t had any problems. One more things, though, it definitely depends on the Wal-greens, because there is another one here in the same town that I refuse to go to because they ALWAYS have problems. I’m in Phoenix, AZ.

Hi. My RR did not print with the Robitussin deal at first but it was b/c I bought Robitussin MAX. The mgr. rang it again and it only printed $5 RR with me buying 3 so he tore that RR up (ouch!) and rang 3 Robitussin CF and a $10 RR printed without any trouble. I also used 3 $3 IPQ. I did the same transaction again with 2 Robitussin CF + 3 $3 coupons and it worked perfectly. Happy shopping!

Okay, I found a Walgreens nearby that had the same deals as most others, but my RR did not print. The manager told me it was because of the coupons. He was very helpful, but I was still frustrated about the situation.

Then, I spoke with another sales associate who said she would be checking into it because she thought they should print. She thinks it is because my total was less than the amount of the RR, meaning that if my end total had been more than the RR it would have printed. She wasn’t sure though. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the number for Corporate. I still got great deals, but I really wanted to do better with those RR!

I’m not getting RR’s either. I’m surprised anyone is (or that some are and some aren’t), if the registers are all set up the same! I did the Robitussin deal first, (bought 3) and got $5 instead of $10. Whatever, I thought. Still okay, since my kids actually have colds and we needed the stuff.
Went back today to do the sudafed/tylenol (now DH has the cold). The ES coupon for Tylenol was denied (it was definitely the right product – tylenol sinus, 24 count) and NO RR’s printed. I used mfg coupons, so I got a pretty good price on them, but not a single thing that Walgreen’s was supposed to honor (their own coupon and the RR’s) came through. Really frustrating.

My first rebate to get me started on a gift card was denied, too. Said “not on receipt” (It was! The exact item!) That’s probably a good thing – I think I’m done with Walgreen’s.

Anyone had problems with Walgreens turning away all printable coupons? Mine (in Orlando) did this yesterday- finally I asked if this was a new policy and after going to two managers, the clerk reluctantly told me she was told she could take them “this time”. Wouldn’t go so far as to say it was official policy. Anyone heard if this is official?
