Everyday Minerals: Makeup deal!

by crystal on September 26, 2008

For those of you who use mineral makeup, Kristen let me know that you can get a free custom kit from Everyday Minerals right now. You only pay shipping, which Kristen said was $3.13 for her!

You get to pick out three foundations, one
blush, and one concealer for your custom kit and there are quite a few different shades to choose from. If you looking for a great deal on mineral makeup or thinking of making the switch, it might definitely be worth spending $3 to try out Everyday Minerals.

By the way, if anyone here has experience with this company, I’d love to hear.

I’ve ordered from there several times – nice quality and well packaged when shipping.

Suzanne September 26, 2008 at 1:47 pm

I use Everyday Minerals. I *love* them. They have great prices, especially in the do-it-yourself kits. Definitely try the free kit first, though, because I’ve found the shades are a little hard to figure out. I have tried other mineral makeup, like Bare Minerals, and this is the only one that does not break out my skin. It’s great!!

Marianne September 26, 2008 at 1:52 pm

I have ordered the sample kit from EM and been extremely happy with it. The samples are fairly generous – plenty to try them several times to see if you’re truly interested in purchasing more. They offer a ton of colors and a few different types of minerals (for oily skin, for dry skin, etc).

I loved my kit, and I think most people will be very impressed and happy with this product. :o )

Rachel September 26, 2008 at 1:56 pm

I actually just got my free kit in the mail this week. I’ve tried it for 2 days and love it so far. My shipping was closer to $5 though, still not bad for 3 foundation samples, a blush and concealer.

Melissa September 26, 2008 at 1:57 pm

I have never tried them before, but I’m a huge fan of mineral makeup, so I went on and got it. Same for me, $3.13 for shipping. It’s pretty neat, lots of variety in shades… which is great for the pale faces of the world like me!

tina b September 26, 2008 at 2:02 pm

YIPPEE!! I just did this! I”m so excited; thanks for the tip! Mine was 3.13, too. :) Sweet!

Danielle September 26, 2008 at 2:13 pm

I just ordered the free kit as well. It was $3.13 shipping for me too. Thanks so much for the info!

Lorrie September 26, 2008 at 2:15 pm

Thank you for this post. I have been out of my Bare Minerals foundation for quite a while and did not want to spend $25 for a new one even though it lasts me nearly a year. I went ahead and ordered the sample kit. $3 was worth it. I was not sure what foundation shade to order.

Amy September 26, 2008 at 2:42 pm

I use this company. They are great. I love their product. I have tried a couple other companies and for me they have the best prices and product. They always seems to have the free kit deal. I have received at least two of them. I received a great deal on one of the kits that I customized. They have the best brushes, too. I am kind of addicted to brushes, so I have tried quite a few. All in all I would try them.

Shannon September 26, 2008 at 2:43 pm

Thanks so much. Just ordered my kit and it was $3.13 shipping for me too.

Michelle September 26, 2008 at 2:52 pm

I did this a few weeks ago and have been very happy with the products. I also ordered an eye shadow (mini for $2, it did not increase my shipping costs). The mini eye shadow is more than enough! At that price, you can afford to have a few for variety or shading. Same with the blush. I think having a large container of foundation (after the sample is gone) would be best, since you can get a better amount on your brush.

This trial kit is completely worth the shipping!

Tara September 26, 2008 at 3:11 pm

I have ordered the sample kit on 2 different occasions and have actually ordered the full size foundation too. I LOVE this makeup. I have also tried the Cover Girl version and it is terrible compared to Everyday Minerals!

Mar September 26, 2008 at 3:14 pm

Thanks for the tip. I ordered it for my daughter’s Christmas stocking. Not a bad gift for $3.13 in shipping, although I probably got the colors all wrong!

I hate their website, though. The initial registration is on an unsecured page and the light print on the light green background is a killer for my eyes.

striving mom September 26, 2008 at 3:22 pm

I love their concealer (I believe the color is sunshine). I use bare minerals, but I am going to switch to everyday once I run out b/c I ordered and tried their samples. I love the fact that you can try the colors by doing the sample sizes!!

Christina September 26, 2008 at 3:26 pm

I wanted so badly to love this makeup, but unfortunately it made me break out like crazy. But, I did love the way it looked, the customer service, and the great sample kits that helped me find my color.
If it doesn’t clog up your pores I think you’ll be really happy with it.

Patricia @ From Wags to Riches September 26, 2008 at 3:28 pm

I would recommend them. I ordered their Sample Pack about 3 years ago when I was still living in Australia and was very satisfied.

I have ordered 2 more Sample Packs since moving to the US – they’re worth a try just to see if their product suits you. I don’t use mineral make up everyday though so the sample tubs lasts me a good while.

A tick from me!

Beth September 26, 2008 at 3:32 pm

I adore this stuff. It last forever. Unlike drug store make up which will go bad because of the preservatives and chemicals, mineral make up doesn’t. I also tried the “other” brands and they contain bizmuth oxide which really irritated my skin. This doesn’t contain it so I have no problems using it. The company has always been quick on shipping and packs it carefully.

Kim September 26, 2008 at 4:02 pm

I have always used the expensive Bare Minerals stuff. When I saw this advertised about a year ago, I was very excited to be spending a lot less money. However, I ordered my kit and samples and just found that for me, they don’t cover nearly as well as the Bare Minerals. So now I am back with the expensive brand. This was just my personal experience, I’m interested to see if anyone else felt the same.

Risha September 26, 2008 at 4:06 pm

I got the sample kit a little over a month ago, and I loved it! Their delivery service was quick, too. I did find it a little tricky to pick my colors (I’m bad at that anyway), but thankfully, I did manage to pick a foundation that was wonderful, and a blush that was decent. I loved the way it made my skin look! I’m glad to read on here that I can order another sample kit to possibly try out another blush.

Kathleen September 26, 2008 at 4:15 pm

Thank you for posting this. I wanted to try mineral make-up but didn’t want to spend the $$ on something that might not work out. This is a great way to try it :)

Roxanne September 26, 2008 at 4:28 pm

I have tried this kit several times, and the little jars last a very long time! Shipping is fast, and customer service is excellent. I really like the blushes, but unfortunately the foundation makes my face itch after a few tries. My fave mineral makeup brand is monave minerals…..but it is a bit pricey when not on sale.

Holle September 26, 2008 at 5:03 pm

I’ve been using Everyday Minerals for over 2 years. I switched after trying Bare Essentuals for a while. I love E.M.!! It makes my complexion feel so smooth and look very even (and its neither in real life!).

I also read somewhere that Bare Essentuals has an extra ingredient in it (can’t remember what it is now- maybe something with zinc) that gives you more of a glow, BUT a lot of people have a sensitivity to that particular ingredient. Everyday Minerals does not have that, so might be better for really sensitive skin.

Marisela September 26, 2008 at 5:06 pm

Do you have to enter special code to get this offer?

Caro September 26, 2008 at 5:29 pm

They’ve been running this deal for the past couple of years. Since it can be so hard finding the right shade, I love getting to try new shades at such a great cost! I use the intensive foundation, which is perfect for my rebellious skin.

Best part of mineral makeup? You don’t always have to worry about sunscreen on your face! It is equivalent of SPF 15.

Cathe September 26, 2008 at 5:31 pm

I got one of those sample kits a year or so ago. It was nice stuff. I don’t wear much makeup, but we are involved with community theater and my 19 yo son preferred my mineral makeup to the (communal) liquid makeup.

I found some online videos to help me learn to apply it!

krissi September 26, 2008 at 5:34 pm

Ordered it…excited to see how it works! I got most of it as Christmas gifts. I have taken the ideas of stocking up on free items from CVS and Walgreens for a huge gift basket for each family! I found all kinds of awesome stuff..thanks guys for all the tips. It’s gonna be a GREAT CHRISTMAS this year !!!`~!!~!@!~

Cindy September 26, 2008 at 5:44 pm

I tried the sample pack and have been very happy with it, too. It doesn’t look like much when you get it in the mail, but it has lasted me quite a while. I especially like the bronzer- it doesn’t turn out fake looking like some do.

Carey September 26, 2008 at 6:11 pm

There are no strings attached? I used to order Sheer Cover mineral makeup by mail. With them, if you order the starter kit, they automatically ship you more every month, and automatically charge your credit card. This isn’t one of those types of things, is it?

Joanna September 26, 2008 at 6:58 pm

I’ve ordered the trial kit before and loved it. I use it mostly for the concealer.
For Carey: No worries, there are no strings attached with this offer. I ordered my trial kit about a year ago and haven’t ordered anything since and they haven’t shipped me anything or charged my credit card. =o)

LeAnne September 26, 2008 at 8:12 pm

I ordered one of their sample kits and then one of their full size kits. If you order a full size kit it’s a MUCH better deal then ordering each (full size) item individually.

Genevieve September 26, 2008 at 8:16 pm

I, too, have ordered their trial kit – about a year ago – and I love it. I don’t like make-up because I don’t like looking like someone else (like a human clown – I don’t like the thickness of it). While I don’t wear it often, this stuff gives me a nice polished feeling. If I were planning to actually purchase some make-up for everyday wear, I’d definitely purchase from them!

Inna September 26, 2008 at 8:45 pm

I tried their free kit a few months ago. It was OK, but definitely lower quality than Bare Minerals that I usually use. Somehow it doesn’t feel as light and coverage isn’t the same.

Ava September 26, 2008 at 9:00 pm

This is great! I am sooo excited. I hope I like it because I do not like what I am using right now (L’oreal powder mineral foundation). Can’t wait for this to come in.

Lori September 26, 2008 at 10:10 pm

I use this makeup. It’s a great deal. The sample sizes are very generous. The foundations lasted about two weeks for me. And I’m still using my two blush samples! I got them in June!
I ordered one sample kit, found my shade, and bought the foundation. With that purchase, I ordered ANOTHER sample kit to experiment with different foundation formulas (Original Glow, Matte, ect) and tried a lighter blush. So for the shipping I would have paid anyway for my foundation, I got a sample kit thrown in!

Linn September 26, 2008 at 11:02 pm

This makeup is the BEST. I was afraid I’d get used to a “fancy” brand by trying Bare Escentuals so chose this instead and have been so happy with it. Also, if you write them to tell them how pleased you were with your purchase, they may offer to send you something you’d like to try for free (they did for me)…great company!

Holly in OK September 27, 2008 at 10:59 am

I love it. I was actually thinking of ordering another sample pack this weekend!
I tried the cheapo Jane kind from Walgreens and HATE it in comparison. I felt like a shiny pearl!
This one is so light, it’s natural, etc. I love it. Everyday Minerals is great for those who can’t use Bare Minerals due to the burning feeling many women get. I forget the specific ingredient that causes this, but I’ve been on other forums and message boards where it’s been discussed ad infinitum.
And the people at the company are SO helpful! I only wish the ingredients were posted more easily for the skincare items, as I have several allergies to natural ingredients and have to be very careful. But a quick email to the company, a day or two for the reply, and problem solved.

Try them out! The cocealer is AWESOME! I’m trying the under-eye shadow reducing one next!

Jenny R September 27, 2008 at 12:16 pm

I love this company as well. Their makeup is really high quality but at drugstore prices. For those who came from BE and had a hard time with the coverage, I would recommend trying out the different formulas once you find a nice shade of foundation. Each formula does have a different feel and coverage.

becky September 27, 2008 at 12:20 pm

Thanks so much for this tip!

lisa September 28, 2008 at 11:00 am

I love their make up! It’s all I wear anymore.

Johnna September 28, 2008 at 10:45 pm

I use this make-up and love it!! Being able to truly try it risk free was great. Then after I tried it and and sent them a comment on how fabulous the product was they sent me a message and said that I could pick out one full size complimentary item!!

Kathie September 29, 2008 at 6:47 am

*raises hand* Faithful Everyday Minerals customer for well over three years. LOVE them! Quality and Selection keep getting better and better. Unlimitted free sample kits (one per order, please) and Cara (owner) is working to have seven items in the kit now versus the five. :-O All for just s+h!!!!! once you go EM, you wont go back to anythingelse. I promise you this.

steph October 2, 2008 at 6:50 pm

I received my kit today…I’m glad that I ordered a brush with it! you’d think the samples would come with one??
