If you got the $5 off Black Rice Skin Care CRT coupon, you can buy the cleanser 9.99, and get $5 ecbs, so free after ecbs.

Carrie September 6, 2008 at 9:08 pm

Crystal — Maybe some of that free Chex Mix will help ease the morning sickness? Hope you feel better soon at any rate.

Jenny Lusk September 6, 2008 at 9:19 pm

i’m new to all this and loving your website. a couple of questions….how do i get 3 coupons printed for the robitussin and dimetapp? i finally got it to print 2 of each but it’s not letting me to do another? also, i’m a little unsure of having to enter personal info to get the coupons. have you ever had a problem with this?
thanks so much!!

jsp September 6, 2008 at 9:55 pm

I don’t know if the Malt-O-meal coupon will work on the box (6.8 oz). ..I think that it probably will only work for the larger bag size (15 oz), which is not sold at CVS I believe

Topwaystosave September 7, 2008 at 12:31 am

I really loving your site. The more I read the more I love. I loved your contest links the other day and I love the cvs deals too. I really have to take advantage of their sales more. I love you have printable coupons for them too. Awesome site.

Brittany September 7, 2008 at 3:15 am

At my CVS there were also $1/1 Loreal Skin genesis or $1/1 Loreal ProCalcium coupons in the beauty department. They say CVS on them so you could use them for a good MM if you also had the insert coupons.

Katy September 7, 2008 at 8:48 am

It looks like the Excedrin that is on sale is the express gels only, and the $2 printable coupon says it is for Migraine only. Do you think it will scan for the express gels? If so, couldn’t we use this coupon at Walgreens on their free-after-rebate Excedrin express gels, and have a money-maker? Just a thought!

Angie September 7, 2008 at 9:33 am

Chex not on sale in Dallas!!
Malt-O-Meal coupon doesn’t match sale size…. :(

Jodi W September 7, 2008 at 9:59 am

Don’t have a blog, but here are my scenarios:
Sun/Mon:
2 Revlon nail polish
1 Loreal Revitalift cleanser 5.99
1 Soft & Dri 2.99
use CVS 3/15, $3 Loreal, .75 Soft & Dri coupons plus a $4 ECB from last week and spend 2.25 oop–earn $14 ECB!

Trans. 2
3 Soft & Dri or Dry Idea 2.99
2 Colgate Total 4.2 oz 2.99 BOGO
2 Colgate 6.4 oz baking soda and peroxide 2.99 BOGO
CVS tissues .99
use 3/15, 2–1.50 Colgate, 2–.75 Colgate, 3–.75 deodorant coupons, plus 6ECB from previous transaction and spend .25 oop and earn 6ECB

Trans 3
2 Lady Speed stick BOGO 2.79
4 Color Riche Loreal lipstick BOGO 8.99
use 3/15, 4–$2 Loreal, .75 Mennen, $1 CRT for lady speed stick
$8.04 total . Use $5.99 and $2 ECB from previous transaction and equals zero (tax) oop.

Leaves 6 ECB to roll over and you have spent about $3 oop total.
Thank you, Crystal! I LOVE your blog and am addicted to it!

Lisa September 7, 2008 at 10:29 am

I tried this morning to use the Revlon coupon for the nail polish and they would not let me. She told me that nail polish is not a cosmetic product.

KimN September 7, 2008 at 10:57 am

I haven’t seen it noted here, but in my area ( CT) the sale days have changed to Friday through Sunday or Sunday through Thursday (this week there are two different circulars each with different dates and different ads!) it can be very confusing. Is this happening anywhere else in the northeast…I noticed that you still list is here as Suday to Saturday…?

Ana September 7, 2008 at 11:34 am

FYI-renuzit triscent has a $4 coupon in the mail today, bringing the price down to $.99!

Carla September 7, 2008 at 12:21 pm

Crystal, thanks for sharing all of the CVS deals! It really helps out a lot as I am new to this. I just made a trip to CVS and tried to use a coupon that I got in this weekend’s paper that is $4 off any one Renuzit TriScents Starter Kit. However, the cashier told me I had to buy two to make the deal work. I was bummed because I was so excited about the ECBs and I’m still confused as to why it didn’t work – the coupon clearly states off any “one.” Has anybody else had this problem?

KIm September 7, 2008 at 1:52 pm

I did the Lifescan Ultra Meter Rebate awhile ago and it did not work. I bout the meter for 29.99 used a 20 manu q. Paid for 5.99 with ecbs and 4 with a gift card. All they would give me for the rebate was the 4 I paid for with a gift card and I had to call them several times just to get that. They said ecbs were not money they were coupons and that why they would not give me the 9.99.

Kristine September 7, 2008 at 2:02 pm

The Revlon $2/1 coupons aren’t good on nail polish at my CVS. They don’t consider nail polish as a cosmetic. I still got a GREAT deal with only $1.92 OOP and earned back $11 ECBs so I can’t complain. Just wanted to let people know since it threw me off at the cash register (should have been $0 OOP – see how spoiled I am now!)

Kate September 7, 2008 at 2:12 pm

My CVS had summer stuff on clearance 90% off! I picked up some great birthday gifts for $1.50 and an inflatable pool for next year for $2.99! (which I used my Revlon ECBs to get free :)

jenni williams September 7, 2008 at 2:13 pm

My CVS was charging 7.99 for the Quattro on bogo so even with the $3/1 qs itd not that great of a deal.

Becky September 7, 2008 at 2:33 pm

Our local CVS store told us that CVS is no longer printing the monthly extra care books. I’m just wondering if that is nationwide? How can you find out about the sale items if that is true besides the weekly circulars and going aisle by aisle? I’m new to CVS too so I’m frustrated that they are doing away with the books right as I’m starting out. Any tips from you CVS pros?

Beth September 7, 2008 at 2:39 pm

Also with the Malt o Meal coupon, The coupon specifically lists honey and oat blender with almonds, so the coupon I don’t think can be used on any other flavor. Our CVS only had frosted flakes and fruit loop type cereal.

Tonya September 7, 2008 at 2:54 pm

Thanks for providing a place for your readers to share information with each other!

Beth September 7, 2008 at 4:35 pm

Carla, I used a $3 off one on the Renuzit TriScents Starter Kit and the deal worked for me. Rang up 7.99, took $3 off for the coupon and got I believe a $3 ECB back. No one said anything about having to buy 2, and it was the shift manager that rang me up at our store. And she’s always such a pleasant person….NOT.

Tami@ourhouse September 7, 2008 at 4:55 pm

My CVS decided to ‘experiment’ (what they told customer after customer who came in looking for the sales flyer) with not having sales flyers for customers to take- just a couple at the cashiers counters. And the sales were not all marked in the aisle, so it was a bit like mystery shopping!

One lady came up and asked the cashier if she could hold the sales paper, and he told her she could hold it but she couldn’t take it! It was pretty funny and frustrating at the same time. I’m glad I checked here before I went shopping, but it was hard to get the right product. I ended up spending about $5.00 extra due to mistakes I made in getting the wrong thing (trying to remember from when I checked here at home…), but still did well, spending $7.00 for $32.00 worth.

I hope the ‘experiment’ fails and they bring the sales paper back again next week… :)

Leigh September 7, 2008 at 5:13 pm

My CVS ad doesn’t have the Malt-O-Meal in it that I can find, so I don’t know if this will work but since it looks like the $1 q won’t work…when I signed up for the Cereal Central club at the site a q for 75c off ANY Malt-O-Meal 15 oz or larger printed. That would make it 25c for a bag. Still not bad for cereal.

Also, my ad says Aussie OR Herbal Essences Shampoo on sale for $2.49 use the 2.00 Herbal Essences coupon from todays inserts to make it 49 cents. With the $1 ECB, it’s a money maker.

Rose September 7, 2008 at 5:29 pm

Quick note to Kim: Regarding the Ultra One Touch meter, I had the exact same problem! Lifescan must have the worst customer service ever. I went around and around with them on that – argued that the rebate said “purchase price” (which was $29.99), not “price paid,” and that the ECBs are just like a gift card, etc. Finally, I just said, “Fine. Just send me back my original receipt and my UPC code that I cut off the box, and I will return your product to the store, since you are not honouring the rebate terms and I am not satisfied with your product.” They had to send me a new meter, and I returned that to the store with no problem. If you ever hit a brick wall with a rebate company (I’ve never had this happen elsewhere), you can just insist that they send you back your receipt or send you a new product.

Rebecca September 7, 2008 at 6:55 pm

I am in Savannah, GA and our CVS ads go from Friday to Thursday now. Our 2 day sale was Fri/Sat. I went Saturday to do the Revlon deal and no ECBs printed. I have emailed so hopefully, I will get them but I was pretty bummed.

Dawn September 7, 2008 at 8:16 pm

Crystal, I love your blog, and have told many people here in Miami about your site and how you have helped me to save money. I have been a lurker, but now wish to share my gratitude. Thanks for all the great printable coupon links. My teens have been able to try many new things. Thanks so much!

Mitzi September 7, 2008 at 8:17 pm

I have been searching everywhere for the answer to this question…can anyone help? If a store has something on sale “buy one, get one free”, can you use a coupon that is for example “$1 off two”? By the way, I am so happy I found this blog! Thanks!

Natalie September 7, 2008 at 8:27 pm

The Revlon $2 from SS does NOT work on nail polish. I contacted Revlon and they confirmed this.

Jennifer September 7, 2008 at 8:39 pm

Has any been able to use the Arnicare coupon? It doesn’t scan, one cashier gave it to me, the other denied it.

Jennifer September 7, 2008 at 8:39 pm

Kristen September 7, 2008 at 8:47 pm

Huggies Pull-Ups for girls 2T-3T size, 29 count, came up $9.50 at my CVS – they’re normally $13.50. With some coupons, this can be a really good price for these expensive things! :) Not sure why they rang up that way, but it could be a “hidden deal”?

Dawn September 8, 2008 at 7:58 am

I used the Arnicare coupon, and it worked very nicely. I was concerned at first that it would not, but the bar code was clear, all the dates were right, so if it hadn’t worked I might have spoken with the manager.

Lydia September 8, 2008 at 9:54 am

There was a coupon for up to $30 off the Bayer Contour meter in the Sunday papers a couple of months back. It doesn’t expire until 3/31/09 so it makes a pretty sweet deal! :)

Nancy September 8, 2008 at 9:59 am

OOPS! I accidentally posted the last week’s sales. Sorry! It had saved my previous entry in Mr. Linky and I was too quick to hit enter. The second “Nancy – deals for this week” is the correct one. My bad.

Nancy September 8, 2008 at 10:05 am

Wow, my cashier took 2 of the $2 Revlon coupons and one $1 one on my purchase Saturday. I’m not sure if he messed up or what, but I am glad he did!

Leslie September 8, 2008 at 12:48 pm

I went to CVS yesterday and some of the Right Guard on sale had .55 peelies on them. I wasn’t sure they would work in conjunction with the $1 off coupons I had for those items, but they did. It was a great deal! Also, the $2/1 Revlon doesn’t want to work for nail polish but every clerk I have had just punches it in anyway. The $4 coupon for the Renuzit Tri Scent – was a much better deal.

Nicole September 8, 2008 at 3:10 pm

Hi everyone – newbie question – what’s a CRT?

Tami September 8, 2008 at 3:23 pm

On the Alavert deal, when I went to purchase it, there was also a $2 peel off coupon. My CVS accepted both the printable $4 coupon and the peel off one, making the box free!!

Krissy September 8, 2008 at 5:26 pm

The $1 and $2 Revlon coupons also didn’t work for me too. The cashier said it was because the nailpolish is not a cosmetic product. But they will take the Revlon $2 CVS coupon, if anyone had any of those print at the bottom of their reciepts in the last few weeks. So I did pick up one nailpolish, but I put the other 2 back.

Krissy September 8, 2008 at 5:34 pm

You only have to purchase one Renuzit Tri Scents to get your $3.00 ECBs. I did it today with no problem. If you use the $4.00 coupon that was in yesterday’s paper, it makes it an awesome deal!

Lisa September 8, 2008 at 7:55 pm

I am so thrilled to have found your site. I am learning so many tricks for coupons! I have saved so much money. Thank you!!

melissa September 8, 2008 at 10:33 pm

Thanks so much for your awesome site! I started cvsing about a month ago and love it. My link is up for my deals this week!

Lacey September 9, 2008 at 2:28 pm

My CVS has American Greetings on sale Buy Three Get One free. If you buy four and use two of the BOGO coupons you posted about previously (http://www.moneysavingmom.com/money_saving_mom/2008/07/free-american-g.html), you end up paying for one and getting three free…Right? And those coupons can be printed lots of times, so you could really stock up!

Rebekah September 9, 2008 at 4:48 pm

I had problems with my Arnicare coupon also, but the cashier pushed it through for me. Don’t know what that means for later in the month when I try again though.

I have bought the monitors and sent in rebates several times. Sometimes they give me the sale price, sometimes they won’t pay since I got it “free.” Either way, I’m good because I’m either paying nothing, or getting paid to buy that product. I’m just happy every time a rebate check show up in my mail box! I’ve also been putting them in my garage sales for $10 each. Thus, I am really doing well when I buy monitors! :)

A side note to the lady who didn’t get her ECB’s when she bought the Revlon…if you call the customer care number on the back of your card, you will usually get your ECB’s the next time you use your card in the store. I’ve had to do this several times, and it has always worked for me.

Also, since they started the ad new schedule, Fri-Thurs, twice now I’ve had problems with something not giving ECB’s on Friday. Last week, my mom went Fri and didn’t get her ECB on the Revlon either. We went in together Fri and I asked the monager to “return” the Revlon and try it again. Sure enough, her ECB’s printed the second time, on Saturday. I’m thinking that there’s a glitch in the system with the new schedule, so I’ll be watching extra carefully when I shop in Fridays. Just a heads up!!!

Heather September 9, 2008 at 5:16 pm

I had an issue with the Arnicare coupon not scanning and the manager wouldn’t accept it.

Jess September 9, 2008 at 7:53 pm

Yeah the Arnicare coupon did not work for me either and the manager said, “well I can’t do that, it would make the product free”…I thought that was the point, isn’t that why they do these things…plus my arnicare product scanned at 9.49, even though the shelf price was 8.99 so watch for that as well.

Marli September 12, 2008 at 8:02 pm

I had a GREAT trip at Walgreens–they are surprisingly topping my list right now :) I’m in the test market for CVS so my sales dates are a little off but I did mine today. Not bad. Upset that my cvs won’t take IP’s anymore (after that facebook scam) :( so I couldn’t use my arnicare coupon! (the manager told me she thought it wouldn’t last long…so I’m hoping!)
