Walgreens: Deals for the week of August 3-9, 2008

by crystal on August 2, 2008

I’m on vacation this week and that means you get to help me
out with the Walgreens deals.

Instead of my usual somewhat-detailed list, I’m going to
encourage you to look through the deals (check out ad scans on Hot Coupon World) and come up with your favorites or best deals that are worth mentioning for this week.

Leave your great ideas in the comments section or post them on your blog and leave your link below. Have fun!

I had to change my Walgreen’s info since I didn’t see that the Kellogg’s rebate had to be in one transaction but I’m not sure how to remove my link. Sorry!! Thanks Crystal :)

Nature Made Vitamins & Herbal Supplements are Buy One, Get One Free! Combine with the $1 off coupon from the All You magazine and you could have a decent deal on vitamins.

Zyrtec Allergy 10 mg., 30 ct. Zyrtec-D 12 Hour, 24 ct. is $22.99 with $4 in-ad coupon, plus there was a $4 coupon in last Sunday’s paper (I believe that’s where I got it from). You could get it for $14.99.

Those are the only things I found of interest, other than the massive amount of freebates this week!

Has anyone else had problems with their easysaver coupons? At two of my local stores in IA, the coupons (in the August easysaver)are all dated to expire 7/26/08. Also, the BioOrganics Shampoo that is free after rebate says “Limit two, up to $11.98″ but when you try to claim it on the rebate form, it will only let you claim one and says “up to %5.99″. I showed it to my local Walgreen’s manager (because I had already bought two) and he gave me a cash rebate for the second bottle. =)

Hi, Has anyone done the onetouch ultra rebate on the $29.99 meter? I’m curious if there has been any trouble getting the rebate? Also, does anyone want the two that I bought? Thanks!

I’ve made my first Walgreens purchase and want to claim my rebate online. I go to the Easy Saver page (I have created an account) and click on claim rebates. It only takes me to a page telling me what to do, and the only think I can click on is to view the catalog. I have looked all over and their FAQ. What’s up? Is there a secret back door in?

Oooh. Just a reminder because I made a huge booboo on the Kelloggs $10 rebate. It says sales receipts have to be date from 8/5/08 until (not sure, sometime in September). I bought all the things today (8/3/08) and am soooooo bummed. They all would have been basically free between rebates, coupons and register rewards. What a stinker. Too bad I started cutting off all the UPC codes and can’t return it! I will send it in anyway and see what happens. Also I will read small print!!!!!

I screwed mine up too. I left a note on my blog but I can’t get my link off of your page. Sorry to waste your time.
Happy day.

Anyone try the Kelloggs Cereal then other Kelloggs products to see if it will do 2 RR? It looks to me that it is one offer, displayed 2 times and Limit one RR coupon printed per order. Many people are blogging like it’s 2 separate offers, but it is all scenario based….
Anyone have in store feedback?
Thanks

I did the cereal and the bars in one transaction and yes I got $10 in RR. I used the coupons for Special K products that came from Vocal Point. Now I am going to go back to Walgreens on Tuesday to get more stuff using the Kelloggs coupons that came in the paper and combine them with the rebate.

I did the Kelloggs deal and only got $5 RR back. The cashier said I would have to do 2 separate transactions to get both (but for the Kelloggs rebate you need to have all 10 items on one receipt, so that didn’t help).

Later, I went to another Walgreens to try the deal again (with other coupons I had). I purchased 10 Kelloggs items that were on sale used my coupons and my $5 RR and then did not get a $5 RR back. The Assistant Manager tried to do something to get it and after talking to the Manager he came back and said it wouldn’t print because I used a $5 RR. Is that how it works with RRs at Walgreens? I just figured it was going to take $5 off my purchase like it states. I did not realize it could affect my current deal. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything I can do?

Anna- yes that happened to me a while back when they had some Proctor and Gamble Register rewards. They don’t allow you to “recycle” the rewards. In other words, if you are doing an RR deal, you can not use RR’s for payment (or they won’t print out). Kind of stinks, huh? They said if they allowed it “then people would just keep getting things for FREE”. I was thinking “exactly!” ha ha.

I did the Kelloggs rebate today at Walgreens. I was very disappointed that because I used my coupons and the price of all the Kellogg items fell below $30 for all the 3 deals the RR were only 2-$5 coupons. I asked the manager why and he said that your total order cannot be less than the amount for the RR deal. Everytime I go to Wagreens there is some kind of problem no matter what I’m doing, with or without coupons.

Hi,

I bought four boxes of the Special K bliss bars today, and for some reason, $10 in RR printed out, making the bars free! I have no idea why that happened, but I just thought I’d share.
