Starbucks

Ashley, a teacher in South Carolina, passed along a flier from Starbucks with the following information:

Kick off the new school year at Starbucks. Stop by each Monday now through
September 29 and receive a tall cup of Pike Place Roast
™, on us. Just present
a valid K-12 teaching credential and the coffee’s our treat.
It’s a little recognition for everything you do.

I am unsure whether this is a nationwide deal or not. Does anyone know? From the flier she sent, it appeared it was valid at all freestanding Starbucks throughout the country. Let us know if you find out!

This is true in my area too. It is probably nationwide. It starts Sept 8 and runs for 4 weeks.

I called my local (DFW area of Texas) ‘freestanding’ starbucks and spoke with a manager. She did not know anything about this promotion….. darn….

I wonder if a homeschool registration card would work. Does anyone know?

I’m not likely to get out to Starbucks on a Monday morning (too suburban a location), but I have a friend in the city who homeschools, and she loves her morning coffee. Due to the economic downturn, she hasn’t even been able to afford to purchase packs of “good” coffee to have at home. It would really brighten her mornings if she could have a cup of Starbucks a few times this month to kick off the new school year!

Thanks! My dh is a teacher and he loves starbucks, but we usually avoid it because of the spence. He will be so happy.

Hopefully it works for former School Psychs too:)

I just called my middle TN location, and she said yes to the complimentary coffee on Sept 8th through the 29th, on Mondays. She wasn’t sure if other locations were accepting homeschool teachers in the promotion, but she said this location definitely will! Just call your local store! Yay!

The two Starbucks I called said this was a spoof sent around and was never an official Starbucks promotion…

I checked my local Starbucks outside of Boston and they had no idea what I was talking about. Darn. :(

I called the Starbucks in Charlotte, NC (actually PIneville, NC) and they said it was true!

In the Atlanta area, this is supposedly a fraud. I tried it this morning and was told it was not real. :(

When in doubt, call corporate! :) I spoke with Amy and she said this is a legitimate regional promotion, so you’ll need to call your local Starbucks to see if they are participating or not. Also, it begins September 8th (not just yet). My middle TN location said they would definitely include homeschool instructors in this promotion!

Yes, this is nationwide. Likely not at licensed store locations such as those inside grocery stores, Targets, airports, casinos, etc since they hold their own “promos” and “coupon” deals. Homeschoolers are welcome. You should have an affidavit that says you are certified to teach this school year. Enjoy your coffee and spread the word. Starbucks did not spend much on marketing this. Please also note that the $2 Grande beverage after 2pm has been extended. It was supposed to end yesterday, but was extended through the end of the month! :-)
