Select CoverGirl make up (Aquacurrent, TruBlend, and all mascaras) is on sale B1G1 at KMart this week.
If you have the B1G1 coupons from a recent insert, you can buy two products and get both free! The store will give you one free with their sale and the coupon will give you another free from the manufacturer!

I tried this with the last B1G1 deal at K-Mart and was unable to convince the cashier and the clerk at the Customer Service desk that is was legitimate to do this. It may help to go in prepared with their store policy in hand!
Yeah, does this work for everyone? I had a bad time at CVS last week, trying to do the same thing. The cashier rang it up correctly, but the computer didn’t take off one of the B1G1, so I went to the manager to get my other $7.49 back. She said she had called headquarters to find out about this type of sale and they said “we give you one and the manufacturer gives you one” and I told her that was exactly right. But then she started telling me I had to buy one at full price to start out with. I buy 1, CVS gives me 1, Cover Girl gives me 1 (that’s with one coupon). Then I have to do that again with the next coupon. I think that’s wrong, but I had no proof. So she wouldn’t give me the $7.49 back from the computer mess-up because she said I already got way better of a deal than I was supposed to. I didn’t press the issue because I can’t afford to have a shift manager upset with me at CVS. I still only paid for 1 and got 7 free (I had 4 coupons), but I think they should have been all free.
L’oreal is also B1G1 at my K-Mart, also the HIP cosmetics, if you have coupons it is a great buy for L’oreal. I love there makeup.
I have never had a problem with this at CVS. I did it twice last week, (I had two coupons) and I got all four free. It was a pretty sweet deal. I have tried B1G1 deals at Walgreens, however, and they won’t let me. They tell me I am committing fraud. Which doesn’t make sense, because if it is a Mfgr.coupon, they get reimbursed anyways. So guess where I don’t go shopping anymore? CVS now gets all of my business- they have never once given me a problem with coupons, and they never raise eyebrows when my total is $.01! This should work. It worked for me!
I don’t think it’s right when they don’t let you get both for free! Any Joe off the street can get the BOGO sale. Why shouldn’t you get to use your coupon, too? Afterall, they get their money from the manufacturer’s. I’ve had to argue a few times over these types of sales but in the end, they usually give me both for free. It helps when their check-out lines get long. Then you get the “whatever” attitude and they’ll give you the discount. I’m always prepared for the fight and have no issues saying,”I don’t want it then” when they fight back.
If I didn’t know that they’d get their money from the mannies, then I would feel bad about argueing.
My P&G insert has an ad for Cover Girl makeup, but it doesn’t have any coupons. Does anyone else have this problem? It’s frustrating!
I’ve also had problems with using B1G1 coupons at KMart. They would argue with me that they don’t take B1G1 coupons with a sale, which doesn’t make sense if you would use coupons on other items on sale. I had tried to explain to them that the manufacturer pays for the other item, but they didn’t seem to understand how coupons work. They just see the $0.00 and think I’m walking out without paying. I don’t want to push matters holding up the line, but I wish it would work out in my NJ KMart! I’ve never had a problem using coupons at CVS or food stores with B1G1 coupons or cents off though.
I went two different days and hit two different cashiers. I just handed them the coupon they scanned it and hit total. I also had a couple of other cheap things thrown in so I didn’t have a total of $.50 or $.00. It’s just easier that way.
I also look for a younger cashier, say a highschooler who doesn’t really care and just goes through the motions of ringing you up.
Sorry, some of you are having problems!
I have been trying to figure out why some places don’t allow you to do the B1g1 in the store with a MC as well. If the stores are making you buy one of their products and then get one free or two free then they are getting more out of the deal than just those doing the deal without the added coupon. If someone doesn’t use the coupon then they buy the product and get one free. If they use the man. Coupon with it and the store makes you buy one then you pay them money for one of the products and then the manufacturer pays them for the other product. They are making more money off of those that use the manu. coupon which I think is not fair. It is a big advantage to them. Even if you have to buy one and then get two free when you use the store deal and the coupon, which is what our Walgreens does, then they are still getting paid for 2 products and only giving one away in each transaction if any of that made sense. So the stores or coming out better than you. All stores should let you get one free from the manufacturer and one free from the store. That way they are still getting their money for one product from somewhere and they are still holding up to their side of the deal and giving you one for free. Its all kindof confusing!
Here is how I like to explain it to cashiers who tell me that “You have to buy one to get one free”. The coupon doesn’t state that the consumer has to buy one to get one free. It says buy one get one free. I tell the cashier that the manufactureer is buying one and I get one free.
I took my BOGO coupon to Kmart this morning and had no problems.
The girl just rang it up, said what a great deal I was getting, asked me for 50 cents and I was off. Thanks!
Now I am scared to try this! I do not even know how I would argue with the cashier.
I am in Columbus OH area. Anyone tried the Kmart here?
Hi, I went to my local Kmart yesterday to see if the deal worked for me. The supervising cashier told me “I had to buy one” and I was in no mood to let it go without a fight lol so I asked her to please ask her manager and she did. He came out and looked over the coupon and said it was fine as long as the coupon didn’t say “not to be combined with any other offer”, which I thought was weird since I have had no other problems with coupons saying that with sale items before. The only coupons that I get grief on are the ones that are B1G1 or that say “limit one per purchase” (walmart is a stickler in my area about that one!!). But yeah, after all was said and done, I got 14 B1G1 deals worth of makeup for under $10 dollars in tax. Sometimes you just gotta argue your point to be taken seriously.
Where did you all find this recent BOGO coupon? I just can’t seem to find it, but really want to because I really want to buy some new waterproof mascara. If anyone has the date of the insert and which one that would be a huge help. Thanks!
K-mart in Greenville, SC is pretty stinky…They won’t let me do the deal. But, I went ahead and bought it…may return it later.
Brooke, it was in the P&G from 8/3/08. If you ever have any questions as to where to find certain coupons, hotcouponworld.com has a coupon data base where you can search for a coupon by name and it will tell you all the available coupons.
