<description>I tried this recipe, and it was delicious! My whole family loved it. Thank you so much for sharing. As for frugal breakfast ideas, I&#039;ve been varying the ideas I found here to make my own granola: http://www.usaweekend.com/06_issues/060226/060226cooksmart.html

<description>We love this receipe. I made it for breakfast today. I was craving oatmeal cookies (I am 8 months preggers) and this really hit the spot. We added raisins. I look forward to trying it with other fruits. Check out my blog at www.findingpenniesinthesand.blogspot.com. I will be mentioning to my readers.

<description>I make this occasionally too - I also cut in half all the time.
I always substitute the oil w/ all applesauce and use 1/2-3/4 c sweetener - honey, molasses or brown sugar depending on my mood. I often add a mashed banana, blueberries or apples and often drizzle molasses over the top to give it a prettier look. I have also made it like normal but put in muffin tins and made muffins instead of a pan. It seems to keep nicer and is easier to serve again the next day. The half recipe makes 12 good size muffins.

<description>I really enjoy this recipe, but like some of the other readers, wondered how healthy it really is. I found a recipe on the Cooking Light website that is healthier and delicious!

I&#039;ve posted the recipe on my blog:

<description>That is my favorite recipe. Had some for breakfast just this morning.

Although I often use that amount of sugar, I find it quite sweet without any extra sugar on top! The way I eat it is with a few more shakes of cinnamon and just enough milk to make it soggy, and heat it up. :)

<description>For those looking for a healthier version - use 1 cup of applesauce instead of oil and 3/4 cup of sugar (or even less, if you&#039;d like). Also, substitute the milk with almond milk or soy milk. You can also use egg substitute instead of eggs.

<description>In response the comments asking if you can use honey instead of sugar - Yes! That is what I always do. You need less honey than sugar, and it does change the consistency a bit, but my kids still love it!

<description>I don&#039;t fix it often enough, but a favorite around here is breakfast casserole. I start it with crescent rolls rolled out flat along the bottom of the pan, sprinkle shredded cheese then cooked, chopped sausage. I mix 6-8 eggs with a little milk, onion powder and dried mustard powder, pour over the sausage, top again with shredded cheese (sharp cheddar is great!) and bake for about 20-25 minutes.

It&#039;s not a very healthy one, but I use low-fat crescent rolls, skim milk and low-fat sausage to try and cut down the calories a little.

<description>I buy steel-cut oats at Outpost Foods in the bulk section for 89 cents a pound. In a small crock pot combine 1/4 cup steel-cut oats and 1 cup water. It takes about 1 1/4 hours to cook. When done add 2 T. pumpkin pie mix, 2 T. freshly ground flax seed (also bought in bulk section) 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Heat for another 5 minutes. Top off with 1/3 cup fresh blueberries. This will serve one.

<description>Thank you for sharing your knowledge with others....I have been enjoying your series on blogging for profit! I am fairly new to the blogging world...started in January.

This recipe caught my eye! I have been making it for years. I have it posted with several variations...even a sugar free version on my blog. http://mainstreetmomcooks.blogspot.com/2008/07/baked-oatmeal.html
Also, for any familiar with Demarle cookware...this recipe makes great muffins too!

<description>I&#039;m excited to try the baked oatmeal! One of my kids&#039; favorites for breakfast are Dutch Babies:

1 cube butter or margarine
4 eggs
1 c. flour
1 c. milk

Put butter in 9 x 13 pan and melt in oven while preheating to 425F. Mix eggs, flour and milk in a blender. Pour into the hot pan when the butter is melted. Bake about 20 minutes. Serve hot with jam or powdered sugar or syrup or fresh fruit topping.

<description>With the baked oatmeal recipe, you can also substitute some of the sugar for unsweetened applesauce to give added nutritional value. I use 1 cup applesauce and 1/2c brown sugar. You can also reduce the amount of oil without changing the flavor too much.

<description>I blogged about how to get free Pillsbury pizza dough at Kroger this week. I&#039;m thinking you could make some sort of breakfast calzone with them if stuffed with eggs, sausage, ect.

Using the recent farmland meat coupons, free dough, and if your kroger has eggland egg coupons hanging up like mine did. Then it would be super inexpensive.
