We went to Chick-fil-A tonight after DH got home from work. He was good-natured about it and dressed up, too. He brought out some Tyvek suits he had in the garage and we used permanent markers to color spots on them, then taped on ears printed from the Chick-fil-A website. Oldest DD wore a white skirt, long-sleeved white t-shirt, and black shoes. She taped on black construction paper spots and wore a black with white polka dots headband with ears taped on. The three middles wore sheep outfits that we ue each Christmas in our living nativity, but we taped on black construction paper spots to turn them into instant cows. Black socks on their feet and black gloves on their hands made for good hooves. The babies wore cow costumes from last year's nativity. Our outfits cost us nothing but time and we got $36.85 worth of food!

Oh, my kids had so much fun with this today! They just wore Daddy's undershirts, and colored pieces of paper brown with crayons, and we cut out cow spots that they taped to their clothes. I blew up some latex gloves that we had on hand, and made tails out of yarn leftover from making hats last winter. We added on noses printed out from the Cow Appreciation Day website, and off we went! 4 free kid's combos, and a combo for mom too! We ate there, they got free samples of ice cream, played in the play area, and then we stopped at a park on the way home - they got to go on the swings, chase ducks, poke sticks at turtles, and roll down grassy hills. Lots of summer fun!!

I am off to find a frugal cow costume. Be back with photos!

I saw a (hopefully) college student in a black trashbag with holes cut out and a vinyl glove blown up and taped to his belly. Not sure how he made out for the meal, but it sure was a cheap costume!

That was fun! I enjoyed seeing everyone else's blog pictures. There were several "herds" at our Chick-fil-a, as well as the Chick-fil-a cow.

My husband and I are doing Chick-Fil-A for dinner. We are wearing white clothes and I cut out some black construction paper blobs. Hubby is making a "cow bell" out of an empty can! Oh those engineers! Hopefully will have pictures to share. I just love that we don't have to cook tonight!!!

And there are FOUR 7-Eleven stores on my way to work...although I only stopped at one this morning. But I get thirsty on my way home too, so....

We were first at our regular ChickFilA (they call me by my 1st name I am there so much!) I with my cow mask and purse, 2 boys with spin art cow t shirts and masks and a toddler in a cow costume.
Then after errand which included free books and 1/2 price books and free slushies at 7-11, we went to a slightly out of the way CFA for lunch.
Awesome!!!

I just wanted to say how adorable some of the pics were. Sadly we do not have this restaurant up here that I know of. It looks like you had a lot of fun though. I am sorry Crystal that you and your family were not able to go. God Bless, Kathy

My older boys are like--no way mom! But my two younger ones were happy to do it, and so am I! Free food and a goofy day to remember....what more could one ask for?
