I bought the Dixie Ultra plates that are on sale
with the in-ad Walgreens coupon B1G1 for $3.79. A coupon printed for $3
off the purchase of 2 Dixie Ultra products. I went back and bought two
more B1G1 for $3.79 minus the $3 coupon and got them for $0.79+tax. I,
again, got another coupon and went back and did the same deal 4 more times,
getting the same printed coupon every time. What a great way to
stock up for the 4th of July. Ended up with 12 packs of 24 Dixie Ultra plates worth $45.48
(at full retail) for $7.74 out of pocket!
It is being reported that the Dixie Blue and White Ultra plates 22 count and bowls 28 count are the items working for this deal. Let us know if find any other kind that is working, too.
Here’s the deal breakdown:
Buy 2 Dixie Ultra plates or bowls on sale for $3.79
Use in-ad B1G1 coupon to get one free
Spend $3.79 out of pocket
Get a coupon for $3 off the purchase of 2 Dixie Ultra products
Repeat the above deal using the $3/2 coupon in conjunction with the B1G1 store coupon and get two packages of plates for $0.40 each! Repeat as many times as you’d like until you are well stocked up on plates!
Another deal Kim wrote about:
I wanted to let you know that the Planters trail mix that is $0.99 per
bag with the in-ad coupon from this also spitting out a $1
RR when you buy three. I have been buying 3 at a time (thats the coupon limit) and it has
given me a RR for $1 each time.
Also, there’s a $5/$20 coupon here for Friday only. Once again, this coupon can only be used for an after-coupon total of $20 or more. But for those who may be purchasing that much or be able to come up with a worthwhile plan, I thought I’d mention it. Let us know if you figure out any great deal ideas!

Getting the Planter’s trail mix is a good way to get a low value RR that you could use to pay for your 2nd (or 3rd …) round of Dixie plates! If you’re able to get 4 of them, the RR will be $1.50.

Sorry…unrelated to this post, but if you think this is a possible deal, feel free to repost!

When I used the last 5/20 coupon, the checker insisted that she run that coupon first. The register did not beap, but I also had enough to cover, so I’m not sure what the deal is. Anyone else have this?

Thanks for the trail mix deal! I went to Walgreen’s this morning and bought three bags and got the $1 RR. I might be going back to get more.

This deal works and there is also a .35 coupon in the 5/11 red plum insert.

There was a coupon on smartsource a while back for .50 off 1 Dixie Ultra item. If you haven’t used it, then you could use it on this deal to make your OOP even less.
Unfortunately, the coupon is not available online any longer.

Can anyone tell me the link to get the dixie plate coupon? I can’t seem to locate one. Thanks

The Dixie deal worked beautifully for me. It works not only on the Ultra, but on the regular ones as well. I’ll be loading up the pitures and posting about it in a little bit.

Just got back from Walgreens. Dixie Deal is still working.

I check walmart.com free samples page at least once a week. There are always new free samples to have sent. I especially love the hair care ones. They are great when you’re going on an overnight and the samples almost always come with extra coupons.

I was at Target two days ago and they had solo plates, and dixie plates & cups on clearance for $2.54/pkg. These were on an end cap. Using the recent rp or ss coupon for $2 off solo products. So I scored 2 pkgs plates and 1 pkg cups for 50 cents each. These were nice, heavy duty plates. It might be worth a look at your Target, too-although you won’t get the RRs.

I was so excited today I went to Walgreens to do the Dixie plate deal that was mentioned on Crystals blog (Thanks Rachel) I had a Walgreen gift card so I thought I would just use that for the 3.79 the first time around. Well the cashier asked me if I wanted the coupon that printed out while she was ringing me up. I told her yes so right in that order she used the coupon! I only had to pay .82 cents out of pocket! Yea! I am going to go try to get some more paper plates tonight! We are going camping next week so this will be great! Thanks again for the info! I love your blog Crystal thanks so much! God Bless, Kathy
P.S. Crystal also motivated my daughter and I to try our hand a blogging so check our blog! http://inmymothersgarden.blogspot.com/

I just got back from Walgreens and I didn’t get the $3.00 off coupon the 2nd time. I got the 22 pack of ultra. Oh well – 4 packs of plates for $3.79 isn’t too bad I guess.

I did the Walgreens deal today but I only got the coupon after the first transaction, nothing after the second. I still got 4 packages for basically the cost of one package.

I did this over and over—it was wonderfully frugal!!

I also bought the Dixie Ultra plates and didn’t get the $3 for another purchase of the plates. That’s okay though. We have a lot of family functions and are always needing them:)

Thanks for the heads up! I just got back from doing this deal. It worked out great. The first transaction i bought 2 plates and my total was $4.01, without me asking the cashier used the coupon that printed out and i only paid .86 for two packages of plates! I repeated this 2 more times. I plan on doing this maybe two more times as we will need paper plates and bowls for the 4th of July festivities! Thanks Rachel for writing money saving mom about this deal!

I was curious if this was the experience of others: if you use a register reward to pay for something else that is to yield you rrs they will not print. In other words they can not be “rolled over” like ecbs can at CVS. This is what I was told at my Walgreens and it has been my experience.

WOW…thanks for another really fun tip!! It WORKED just as stated above…of course, when I was in store, no one else was wanting to be checked out so the boy checking me out humored me!! I happened to have $12 rebate on card from last month…so it went for a very nice purpose!

Hannelore, it’s okay to use RRs to pay for a deal that prints RRs if they are RRs from another RR deal. For example, I can use my RRs from buying the Oral B toothbrushes to pay for this week’s cereal deals. I can’t use my RRs from this week’s cereal deals to buy more cereal because then the RRs won’t print. Now, I’ve had many cashiers tell me that you can’t use any RRs to pay for an RR deal, but I just smile and say, “let’s try it.” It works fine. And they are amazed.

I went to Walgreen’s last night and tried this and it worked for me as well. I bought the 3 planter’s trail mix and used the $1 towards the plates and it kept spitting the coupon out each time! Thanks Crystal!! I usually don’t even shop at walgreens because for some reason I always have problems with my coupons but I decided to give it another try.

Dixie plates are a staple now at my house. I have 10 packages with an OOP of: 6.87 and I have another coupon. I will get 2 mpre packs and then I think I am set for the summer. Great Tip TY!

My husband went to Walgreens for me to buy the Dixie plates….got the 22 pack Ultra, and it didn’t give him the $3/2 coupon. Worked yesterday, I see. Wonder if it has stopped working.
