Thanks for the Thomas coupon! The ShapeWorks offer requires you to sign up to be contacted by an Herbalife salesperson and may require shipping and handling charges. I tried the baby registry thing, but when I added an item, nothing happened.
I cleared the cookies on my computer, and it let me go back to the Thomas the Train coupon site after I had already printed once. It also lets you choose how many copies you want to print out. I’m going to send my Dad and my husband into the store so we can get several different trains.
fyi – the security encryption certificate expired on Living the country Life Magazine on 6/20/08.
Apparently Toys R Us was slammed with the coupon issued last week. Not sure why they thought people wouldn’t use them. Since that time many stores are not honoring them and they have actually issued a statement on their website:
http://www3.toysrus.com/Our/tru/prom/2008ThomasRC2/922426.cfm
Looks like they need to rethink this type of promotion in the future.
I tried using the Thomas coupon at TRU yesterday and was told they weren’t accepting the coupon anymore because of an error. I don’t know if it was just my store that caught it or if it’s at all TRU stores so be prepared, they may not accept the coupon!
If you read the coupon it is only for 4 specific trains.. we already have those listed!!
My mistake, I tried using the old Thomas coupon that I printed last week. They are no longer accepting that coupon. I didn’t realize they made a new coupon.
i went to a Toysrus yesterday and they said they don’t have anymore free thomas trains. They were very vague abt when they will have more and were really discouraging me to come again.
Apparently Toys R Us issued a coupon on 6/19 that for some reason isn’t valid due to an error on their part. They do have signs in the stores stating this. The link for the coupon posted here today is a totally different coupon, and it does work (at least it does at my store). We just got a Harold the Helicopter for free! It was the very last one in the store so we are super excited to have gotten a $13 product at no cost!
just wanted to say that our Toys R Us is not taking the free coupon either. We went yesterday and they said they were not honoring the coupon. Just a heads up.
I also signed up for the baby registry but did not receive the option for the magazine subscription
I get the impression that many TRU stores are acting very funny about these Thomas coupons. I got a single train with the original coupon in Athens, GA, without a problem on Sunday. On Tuesday I happened by a TRU in Atlanta that had apparently taken every single wooden train off its shelves and restocked entirely with the higher end (i.e. more expensive) models and dual packs. (This is what local parents there with coupons in hand said.) Today I went back to the TRU in Athens with the new coupon that only permits a choice of four trains. They had removed every instance of exactly those four trains from their shelves (in addition to all slot/price labels for them) and double stocked with wooden trains that are not coupon eligible.
I’m a little annoyed with TRU, but ultimately I think I should be thankful for the one free train I did get. Some things that are too good to be true are just that.
Just wanted to post for those of you who might be wasting lots of toner, gas, and time trying to get a free Thomas Train. You should be aware that you might be just as likely to win the lottery today.
I tried setting up the One Step Ahead registry to get a free subscription and nothing popped up when I started adding items. Afterwards, I went to the home page to find a link regarding the free subscriptions and it states that you get a free subscription when you purchase $75 or more through the website.
I subscribed to the Living the Country Life magazine and when I completed the order it showed 3 years (18 issues) at $0.00. I made sure I printed a receipt in case there’s any problem in the future; otherwise, what a great deal! (I hope!)
I went to TUR yesterday with the coupon issued last week and they had a sign posted at the entrance saying that they were not honoring that coupon. It was an error.
Is this a different coupon?
You can get “Home” and “Woman’s Day” magazines for free. I have posts and links here: http://thesavingsswap.blogspot.com/search/label/Magazines

I doubt I will attempt another TRU deal after my experience today. I had the “right” coupon (I went straight to the CS desk and they directed me and told me that there was only one kind of the free ones left – which was okay with me) I didn’t know what I was looking for and wasn’t successful finding what the kind lady told me. I went back to the CS desk to stand for about 5 minutes waiting while the manager and assistant manager completely ignored that I was standing there (I mean, at least a “we’ll be right with you” would have been nice!) – the nice lady was gone. I finally went back and just grabbed one of the Thomas toys and took it to the register. By the time I got there, the cashier who had heard my initial conversation with the nice lady was free and I asked him if that was the right one, of course it wasn’t but he actually walked back to help me look.
They were out, but here is what makes me maddest – he just mentioned off handedly that “they” only sent SIX of the free toys to that store. This is a major store in a major shopping area in suburban Atlanta. SIX??!! Are they kidding?? I don’t think they intend for this to be anything but a bait and switch scam. I won’t go back.
Didn’t I just read somewhere about someone (Yes, Starbucks!) who sued and won because of that little coupon for a free drink that they sent their employees and employees’ friends, and then of course it made its way out of that circle into the rest of the web, and they got slammed with drink orders they had to fill or turn away? Technically, someone could sue for this, couldn’t they? Man, it stinks to be ethical sometimes!
We could all be rich! Or at least have one train each! LOL
Same with Heather when I went to TRU and saw the sign outside say same comment. I hope they will fix this error and let us the mothers get free for our kids in the future.
Thank you so much….I got the train free of charge except that I paid the taxes. My friend too got it for free.
Thank you

I had the same issue trying to use the original coupon, in that they would no longer accept it. However, I also printed out a 20% off a $29.99 or more Thomas Wodden Railway Set and they would not accept it. When I emailed Toys R Us about it, the customer service person told me the coupon was bogus, despite the fact that it is clearly hosted on their website at www5.toysrus.com
Oh well. I’m pretty disappointed with Toys R Us right now.
