After weeks of shopping at CVS and receiving nothing but ECBs on my receipt, I did a big happy dance last night when my receipt printed four good CRTs (this is lingo for the coupons which print at the bottom of your receipt) in addition to the ECBs.
I’ve been lamenting the lack of CRTs lately because without them or $/$$ coupons, I was wondering how I was going to keep scoring great deals at CVS. I mean, I’ve gone for months with very few $/$$ coupons (they used to be very abnormal) but I always had plenty of CRTs to combine with manufacturer’s coupons and ECB deals and thus get great deals.
And then I went for weeks with only $/$$ coupons and manufacturer’s coupons because I wasn’t receiving any CRTs. Once again, combining the $/$$ coupons with the manufacturer’s coupons and the ECB deals, I was able to snag some super deals.
But no $/$$ or CRTs?? That sounds like a recipe for disaster! I mean, I might have to start spending more than a dollar out of pocket each week at CVS! That would just be wrong.
However, now that the computer spit out some CRTs for me, I have hope yet for CVS. And now if they’d just generously release some more $/$$ coupons, I’d be one happy camper! 
How about you? Have you been getting more CRTs lately? Can we hope that they are being resurrected?

I got my first CRT yesterday. I was pretty excited!
I have been lucking out the last 2 weeks at CVS regarding CRT’s. Most are $1 off things like Band Aid brand items, Colgate or Aquafresh items, etc. But last week I got $5 off Energizer batteries (and I use these alot since I have small children), and yesterday I got $3 off Pantene products.
I recently received 2 CRT’s. One was for 1.00 off any lotion (used it on a .99 Curel) and 1.50 off any pain reliever (used it on a .99 travel-size Aleve) and it took off the full 1.50. Free plus overage! Then two more CRT’s printed out. So it looks like they are coming back!
I just got 3 a couple days ago that I will actually use. I am very excited about it. Probably abnormally excited about it. LOL. One was for Almay, and they have some make-up clearanced. Together with a Manu Q, I should be able to get something to put in my daughter’s make up kit I’m putting together for Christmas. Also, one for CVS brand “sanitary supplies.”
I got my first CRTs last week, and I was so excited! We have no scanners in Maine, so with no $/$$ coupons things were looking kind of bleak. I got 2 CRTs, one for something I didn’t even recognize but the other for $2 off Revlon, which I used on a 50% clearance item — got eye shadow for $.49! (Ah, it takes so little to make us happy!)

I don’t think that CRTs are the same across the board… what I mean is, I’ve noticed a lot of discussion about their disappearance on what I called my “Drugstore Game” group of blogs yet all this time I have still been getting plenty of them, including $/$$! I thought it might be regional, but I am in the DC area and I’ve heard bloggers from the area noticing their disappearance as well. I think that it might be based on usage? I’m not sure, really. I am not new to the concept of CVS or ECBs, but I have only been taking full advantage of the program for a short time.
Also, the CVS by my office has one of those price-checking machines. If you scan your CVS card it will print coupons for you – I’ve gotten a few $3/$15 from there. Also, it will sometimes print a coupon for the item you scanned and has let me know about a lot of sales that weren’t posted on the shelf or in the circular. I haven’t seen one at any other CVS, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that more will pop up!

I have been CVSing for less than a month now. Today I got my first CRT. It was for $3 off any face skin care. I really miss the $3/$15.
Oh funny! I only started CVS-ing a few months ago, so I thought it was normal to get the coupons at the bottom of the receipt. I’ve been getting them regularly for about a month now. The “Coupon Center” kiosk in the store also prints out some decent coupons.
I’ve never received any CRT’s. Are these in addition to coupons printed from the scanner?
I’ve gotten a few CRTs. Plus, I recently got some $/$$ in the mail.
I got a few CRTs several weeks ago but not lately. I did two transactions today, but nothing printed besides the ECBs. The scanner is showing a lot more variety, though. Maybe the CRTs print only if you didn’t already get them from the scanner.
I have only been CVS for a few weeks now. In the part of Kentucky where I live, we have no scanners at our stores. And I have not recieved any CRTs either. Not sure if I will or not? Thank’s for all your help, I have been able to get some good bargins. I still have a lot to learn.
I’ve been consistently getting $5/$25 CRTs for the past 2 or 3 months. Every once and awhile I’d get a product CRT.
I also noticed that I didn’t get as many CRTs once they put the scanner in our local CVS. I wonder if that has something to do with it.
I have been getting CRT’s during the last two weeks.
I got $2 off Almay, $1 off pain reliever, $2 off Duracell Power Pix (exciting!!), One for passport photos, two different ones for CVS brand feminine products, and one for Balmex and maybe a couple others.
Most (except the duracell one) I haven’t been able to do deals with yet, but they haven’t expired yet!
I NEVER get $/$$ CRTs. Also, my store does NOT have a scanner.
Lucky you !!! I can’t remember the last time I got some CRT’S!!! I have to buy T.P. this week, hope I get some. So all you ladies down south, can you please send some up here to New England, pretty pretty please. and if someone from CVS is reading this, please oh please release some of your great coupons!! Maybe a $4/20
I got my first $/$$ last weekend. The time before that the scanner gave me $/CVS products. I have to drive a little further to this store, since the closer ones do not have the store scanner – but I say it is worth it!
I haven’t gotten a CRT in almost 4 months until last week. I got 1.50 off pain reliever which I used to make last week’s tylenol free after ecb, and 1.00 off Almay which made the mascara a moneymaker! I also have $5 off some sort of acne system and a couple of others I probably won’t use, but I am SO happy I am getting them again!
I don’t have any trouble seeing anything on your blog in Firefox or IE. I’m sorry for those that do! It does take a really long time for the feed to be updated on my igoogle page, but I think that’s a Google issue.
I have never received CRTs. I hope I am not missing out on anything! My CVS does have the scanner though, where you scan your card. Is that in place of the CRTs? Just wondering…But I have never gotten a coupon actually ON my receipt.
I hadn’t gotten any for more than two months and then I finally got one last week and one this week. SHEW!! My cousin, who is not as crazy a couponer as I am, still got good ones all the time though even when I was getting NONE – I think they cut us couponers off for awhile there!! Not nice!!
I picked up a prescription on Monday and was very surprised to see some CRT’s on my receipt! I did the happy dance too, lol. On the bottom of my receipt is $1.50 off any pain reliever and my free hershey bar coupon that they couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t print off a few weeks ago!
I’ve gotten a couple good ones recently. One was the $1.50 off pain reliever. I’ve also been regularly getting $10/$50 coupons, so I’ve been trying to combine things into one big transaction to make use of those.
The most exciting thing for me, though, is that my stores now have the price scanners!!!! I went to two stores today and they both had the price scanners. One wasn’t working for coupons, but the other printed out two CRTs. I don’t know how useful either will be, but we finally have scanners!!!
I had been getting 5/25′s pretty regularly, but suddenly the CRTs have all dried up. I just don’t get CVSs logic – it’s like there’s a giant roulette wheel in charge of coupon distribution. Sniff….

I have been getting pretty good CRTs lately. I have not been going to cvs as much without the $/$$ coupons though. Cvs did email me some good coupons yesterday. $1 off Dreyer or Edy’s Icecream ( Which is buy one get one free this week), $1 off 20 oz G2 making it .29.
I don’t hardly EVER get them, including today. Waaaaahhhhhhh!
I’m really missing the $/$$ coupons! I’ve had a few of the CRT’s but nothing to write home about so far.
I’m curious as to how/why it seems like the coupons are so random from one customer to another. Weird…!

went to cvs today – no coupons – but i had 2 ECBS for $6.00 each and they would only ring up for $4.00 each, any ideas why????
I haven’t been to CVS since last week, when the $1.50 off pain reliever printed, that I used for the Tylenol. That would be great if they started printing more coupons…especially some $/$$.
I hear about people getting CVS coupons via mail & email…but I’ve never got any. I used to get them by email before I changed email addresses, then I’ve gotten none. So I contacted CVS and they told me they had my account all fixed and I should start receiving something. Well, I haven’t, which is kinda disappointing.

I did 14 transactions this past week and not a single CRT! I was wondering if there was an issue!
CRT stands for “cash register tape” and is refunder lingo for the receipt itself, like when the orig receipt is needed for a refund. I have never heard it used to refer to the coupons on the receipt. What does the acronym stand for in that context?
I had a few print out yesterday, but I am not convinced they will be all that useful…we shall see. It is nice though to see them coming off….
I have only been cvs-ing for about a month. I’ve only gotten 2 CRTs on products-never
$/$$. We do not have scanners at any of the locations closest to me (in Knoxville TN) because the manager of one said these are only at new stores and not the old stores (and all ours are older). I have only gotten the initial 3/15 coupon for signing up and one 4/20 coupon from wall street journal link you posted. Also, I do not understand how to get the coupons for updating e-mail address (nothing ever comes of it). Is there something else you must do to get one? If anyone has advice I would appreciate it.
Our CVS actually will take coupons for up to a month after they expire, so I am still able to use the $3 off of $15 that was in the Beacon Journal. That is a handy coupon!
Sometimes, when I open up the page, only the top post shows up, the rest doesn’t load, but if I refresh, it all comes up.
I got 4 CRTs Monday night, 3 I will use, so I was excited.
I have never gotten one but I hope to get one soon. I wish the CVS stores around here had scanners too!
I was wondering what CRTs were, because all the blogs talk about them, and I’m very new to CVSing. but last night, on both transactions, a 3/15$ CRT printed out for me. My friend that was with me was SOOO jealous. yay! for me. THanks for all the posts you do. You all help me out so much.
I didn’t get any today. I was bummed because I wanted to bulk up for the July deals. Then I found the July deals and they aren’t very exciting!
My husband’s card prints 10/50 regularly and CRTs as well. My card has never had a 10/50, but it did print CRTs the other day. I almost always use the 10/50 when it prints on my husbands card, so maybe that is why it keeps printing it for me. Not sure, but I was happy when I tried it this week. I purchased a TP pack. I was thrilled to use the 10/50 to finish out this and some other June deals I hadn’t gotten yet.
I got a $3/$15 today!! Woohoo! I also got a $1 off any lotion last week. I noticed an absence as well!

I actually got my first ever register $/$$ coupon. It was $10 off of $50. Then today, I finally got an e-mail from them for $4/$20 through Sunday…guess I CVSd a day early this week. I had $21 on my total, it would have been nice to save an extra $4. Oh well, back to the drawing board to see if there is anything else I can do to use that coupon this weekend.
I got coupons this time too for the first time in a looooong time. I think it was for $1 off pain reliever and there was another one, thought I can’t remember what it was for. I do miss the $/$$ coupons! They are such a great way to sweeten the deals!
I finally got an e-mail with a 5/30 and some coupons off products! But I have a question. Crystal, can you give us the answer about how many times you can use one of these coupons? It seems from some posts that some are able to use one of these coupons for several transactions or even over a period of weeks. All the ones I have seen say, “Limit one per customer” on the red block at the top. Since I’m new to this I don’t know if that means I should only try to use the coupon once, period, or is it once per transaction, (or as many times as the cashier or your conscience lets you or what)? It seems to me that they scanned my previous two coupons and kept them. The computer has let me print these more than one time. I just don’t want to “abuse the system” if they only want you to use it once. Thanks!
I keep getting the coupon for 10$ off a 50$ purchase… How do you make this work? I tried to do it, and ended up spending somewhere around 13.00 out of pocket along with all my ECB’s. The lady kept telling me I had to add items becuase of the tax. I was very confused and said I would never use the $10/50 coupon again. Any suggestions?
I had a $4/$20 in my e-mail this morning, so if you aren’t getting one at the store, you might get it in the e-mail. I haven’t been to CVS in a couple weeks, so they may be trying to entice me back!

Yes, we’ve been getting crts again after months of nothing. What a blessing…we’re hoping for a 3/15 to print out soon. But I’ve been able to get a few good deals with the others…like the bayer BOGO deal. If you use 2 $1/1 man q and stack it with a 1.50 off any pain relief crt, it’s a moneymaker! Every little bit helps.
