Walgreens: $10/$30 coupon (Friday ONLY)/Share Your Scenarios!

Thanks to everyone who emailed me about Walgreen’s HOT $10/$30 coupon which is good for tomorrow (Friday) only. Go here to print your coupon.

Depending upon your store’s rules, this coupon can potentially be used for an order that totals $30 before manufacturer’s coupon. Using this coupon and manufacturer’s coupons, you can get some very sweet deals!

If your store does not allow you to use this coupon before manufacturer’s coupons (requiring you to have a total of $30 after manufacturer’s coupons), then my advice is to use it on the free-after-rebate items in the monthly EasySaver booklet (see more details on the program here, if you’re new to shopping at Walgreens). You’ll have to pay more out-of-pocket upfront, but this way you can still use the $10/$30 coupon, only spend around $20 and get $30 back (or more if you use manufacturer’s coupons on the rebate items, too!) as a rebate at the end of the month.

For those who have already purchased all of the May free-after-rebate items, the June rebate items begin May 30, 2008 so you can go ahead and get a great headstart on those. (I’ll have full details on these on Saturday, but you can see a sneak preview here courtesy of Hot Coupon World!)

Also, May 30-31, 2008 the May/June EasySaver book coupons overlap (meaning you can use two EasySaver coupons in addition to one manufacturer’s coupon per item) so there are some good deals to be had with those.

Note: If you are planning on using any of the June EasySaver coupons, I
recommend that you go ahead and print them from the PDF booklet here
in case your store doesn’t have the booklets in yet. Better to be
overly-prepared!

Here are the overlap deals:

Schick Quattro Titanium Razor or Trimmer
– $11.99
Use $3/1 coupon from 05/18 insert
Use $3/1 May EasySaver coupon
Use $4/1 June EasySaver coupon
$0.99 after coupons

Edge Shave Gel – $3.99
Use $1/1 manufacturer’s coupon
Use $1/1 May EasySaver coupon
Use $1/1 June EasySaver coupon
$0.99 after coupons

*Deal Idea* (if your store allows you to use the $10/$30 for $30 worth of merchandise before coupons)
Buy 2 razors
Buy 2 shaving gels
Add on a $0.25 item
Use $10/$30
Use coupons mentioned above
Approx. $0.20 plus tax after coupons!

Bethany just posted all the May/June overlap deals. Here are the rest:

Hawaiian Tropic products: B1G1
50%; use $2 May IVC and $2 June IVC. Some have also found $2
manufacturer’s coupons at Kmart, further reducing OOP expenses. Some
Hawaiian Tropic products are reportedly marked down by 75% in select
stores. If that’s the case at your store, this could be a moneymaker.

Snickers 6-pack: Use $1/2 May IVC and $1/2 June IVC.

L’Oreal Feria Hair Color: Use $2 May IVC, $3 June IVC, and $2/1 or $5/2 manufacturer’s coupon from 3/16 and 4/27.

Marc Anthony Pro Root Touch-Up: Use $2 May IVC and $1 June IVC.

GenTeal Lubricating Eye Gel Twin Pack: Use $3 May IVC, $3 June IVC, and $3 manufacturer’s coupon from 1/20 or 4/13 newspaper insert or $2 printable coupon.

OFF Personal or Outdoor Insect Repellent: Use $1 May IVC, $1 June IVC, and .55/1 or 1.50/2 manufacturer’s coupon from 5/18 newspaper insert.

Hot Shot Ultra Ant Bait 4 Pack, Ant & Roach Killer 21 oz., or Wasp & Hornet Killer 18 oz: Use $1 May IVC, $1 June IVC, and BOGO manufacturer’s coupon from 5/4 newspaper insert.

Raid Ant & Roach Spray, 2 pack: Use $1 May IVC, $1 June IVC, and $1.50 manufacturer’s coupon from 5/11 newspaper insert.

Cutter Personal Or Outdoor Insect Repellent, 6 oz or larger: Use $1 May IVC and $1 June IVC.

Duracell Ultra AA or AAA 8 pack: Use $1 May IVC and $2 June IVC.

Energizer EA Change Hearing Aid Batteries, 8 pack: Use $2 May IVC, $2 June IVC, and $2 printable manufacturer’s coupon.

If you need a filler for any of your scenarios, Excedrin is $1.99 this week. Use the $2/1 coupons here and get it free!

Is the June EasySaver only at stores? I can get the May one on-line. I’m new to the Walgreens deals!
Thanks!

2 Cristina May 29, 2008 at 2:30 pm

Hi, I’m new to the Walgreens shopping. Where do you get the EasySaver catalogs? I only see the May and April one online. Thanks!

I’ve read on other boards that your total has to be $30 before coupons. That if it drops below $30, then the register will add the $10 back on. I don’t know how the coupon from last week worked – maybe this one is different and it certainly doesn’t say that on the coupon.

I’ll be hitting up Walgreens before I go to work tomorrow so I can get all the good deals and use the $10/30 coupon.

However, earlier this week I went to Harris Teeter and used the coupon from the Kraft Food and Family and a newspaper coupon and got 2 FREE Kraft salad dressings and 2 FREE Lysol Neutra Air Fresheners (because they were both BOGO at the store and BOGO with the coupons).

I think the .99 toothbrushes could be free also when using the toothbrush coupon from colgates website, it says $1.00 off any adult toothbrush. This would be a great way to get your total above $30, also the gum is free after coupons and the chex mix.

First of all, what a great informative site! Second, I am an eBay Power Seller. I often use these free deals to get my inventory to sell on eBay. So, for the Walgreens deal, I plan to hit the clearance section for my $30 purchase (I am a regular shopper there anyway), then get $10 more worth of stuff to sell for free!

I usually sell items like perfume, teeth whitening kits, feminine products, stop-smoking treatments, diet products, and vitamins. I look for the rock bottom markdowns on hot selling items. Gotta LOVE Walgreens!

Happy shopping-
Suzanne

I am not a frequent shopper of walgreens but i will be going in tomorrow with the 10 off 30. How do the overlapping coupons work i have never heard of this and are they going to give me a hard time about it?

8 Tish May 29, 2008 at 9:32 pm

Wow.. this stuff makes my brain just go fuzzy.. this stuff fascinates me, though. So, when it says “1 item per coupon” that is NOT the same as “1 coupon per item”, rite? And we can use multiple coupons on the same item.. I think I know the answer here, I’m just sounding it out loud, cuz.. why haven’t i thought of this already???
Also, I can see my having to explain this whole thing to the people that work at my walgreens.. just to be prepared!

Also, I wonder what kind of luck everyone will have trying to use the 10/30 before coupons, since the wording on that coupon does not say either way… I’m curious to see the comments with their experiences..!
Thanks!

I went last Friday to use the $5/20 coupon and my Walgreens would not let me use some of my coupons because it dropped my total below $20, even though they scanned it first. It was very frustrating, so I just had them take off the $5 coupon so I could use my other $10 worth of coupons!

10 Money Saving Mom May 29, 2008 at 9:46 pm

Tish: If you have not read Walgreens 101 on the sidebar, be sure to do so before you head to the store tomorrow. It explains this all in detail.

The basic synopsis is that you can use one store coupon and one manufacturer’s coupon per item at Walgreens except in the case of a 7-day weekly ad coupon and the case of the monthly EasySaver overlap days. In those cases, the computers are set up to accept two store coupons and a manufacturer’s coupon per item.

If you go in confidently and present your coupons in the order specified in Walgreens 101 (give the $10/$30 before all the rest of the coupons, though–unless your store says it’s against their policy), you’ll likely not have a problem or even need to give any explanation. At least that’s been *my* experience.

Hopefully it goes well for you, too!

Ok this is my first time attempting this. I want to make sure I am doing this right. I was going to purchse
Orajel Kids rinse 5.89 (free after rebate)
oral B crossaction 3.99 (Free after rebate+ 1.00 coupon
Nexacare cold sore 8.99 (free after rebate)
Pert 2 in 1 2.50(may rebate)+ 1.00cou = .29 after rebate
(3)Excedrin 1.99 (3)$2 coupons= +.03 Overage
Crest pro Mouthwash 3.99 -$3(May coupon)- .75 coupon= .24
Edge shave gel 3.99- $1 may, $1 june + 1 coupon = .99
Bic Soleil razor and cartridge 4.99 each – 2.oo coupon + Free Cartridge = 2.99
Schick Quattro $9.49 – $3 coupon, $3 May coupon, $4 june coupon= +.51
My question is I am coming up with:
$55.09 Total before coupons/rebates
$13.35 out of pocket after $10 coupon and rest of coupons
$21.37 back in rebate
Can that be that I am making money in the end of $8.02 before tax. I just want to make sure that I am doing this correct. It is 1AM and I’m not sure if I am doing something wrong. If someone could help me that would be great. Thank you.

I just noticed as I was printing the easy savers from Walgreens that on each coupon it says “Void if copied”. Does this mean we can’t use them if they are printed from our printer (or does it just mean not to photo copy them)? In other words are you only permitted to use Walgreens booklet?

13 Kristin May 30, 2008 at 8:44 am

You can use the printed ones just don’t ever photo copy a coupon.

14 Kristin May 30, 2008 at 10:11 am

Ok, I just got done doing this twice. For me, it still had to total 30 plus dollars after the IVC’s(Walgreens easy saver coupons). So I had to make sure to add up how much money’s worth I had of those. I gave these to the cashier first and asked them to subtotal just to make sure it is still over 30. Then I gave them the $10/30 coupon. Then I gave them all of my manufacturer coupons. I bought my June rebate items in one transaction and Razors, edge shave gel, and Feria haircolor in a different transaction. I did two different stores just to make sure they wouldn’t hassle me about two 10/30 coupons.

15 Mary May 30, 2008 at 11:18 am

Just got back from two different Walgreens. The first did my 10/30 right away and I only ended up with paying 5 something out of pocket (would’ve been less but had a problem with one of the ICVs and I wasn’t going to fight it as I still had a good deal and I didn’t want to mess up my 10/30).

Went to a different Walgreens and had problems! Not really bad, and the cashier and manager were very nice about it. I ended up with supposedly getting .24 back (when I figured it out I should’ve had to pay about 5 before taxes). Well, the cashier calls the manager and long story short, he tells me that I have to have 30 after the IVC coupons in order to use the 10/30. He says its because the IVC are veiwed as making the product be on sale as opposed to a coupon.

16 Carol S. May 30, 2008 at 11:26 am

Hi Crystal. I took a different approach than usual for this coupon. Rather than going for the lowest OOP figure, I used it for some health and wellness purchases we needed.

My son was running out of his liquid vitamins, which are $10.49 regular price, are never on sale, and never have a coupon (that I’ve seen). So I bought his vitamins plus $20 worth of items that my family needed, still opting for what was on sale and getting double or triple the quantity for the price. That way the $10 off $30 coupon was like getting the vitamins for free. Not a super-duper money earner, but helped me get much more for my money and met my family’s needs at this time.

This coupon is a great way to get something for free that normally costs around $10, if you buy it “on top of” things you know you would already buy/use/need.

17 Greg May 30, 2008 at 11:27 am

Do you know where to find the $1/1 Edge manufacturer’s coupon? Thanks.

18 Lisa Neicen May 30, 2008 at 12:09 pm

I did the Razor deal this morning and it worked out nicely. The employee did have to call the manager over to verify that we couls use both Easy Saver coupons. Then I had the same thing happen that a lot of others by the computer taking off the 10 once the total dropped below 30. I called the manager back over pointed out the fact it did not state that this was the intent of this coupon anywhere on it and she honored it. The way she pushed it thru was when I got down to 14.20 she did a gift card for 10 applied it to my balance which left me owing 4.20 OOP!!!! I was doing cartwheels all the way to the car…. I did by some more CHex so that is why I owed a little more.

I have also come up with another great scenario for the OFF Mosquito Lamps. There is a BIGI coupon for these on http://www.off.com
They are 10.99 each so I will by 2 and buy the 3/10 Pepsi to put me over 30. Then I will use the overlapping OFF coupons in the May/June EasySaver along with my BIGI coupons making them both FREE leaving my balance about 4.00… my 2RR will print and then I will have spent net about 2.00 on 2 mosquito deterents and 3 12 packs of Pepsi products!!! I don’t know about everywhere else but there are some BIG mosquitos in SC

19 Tiffany May 30, 2008 at 12:30 pm

I just went to Walgreens and spent $1.26 which was only tax! I got (1)excedrin,(2)bic soleil razors, (2)soleil razor cart., (3)chex mix, (2) ghiradelli chocolate bars, (1)edge shaving cream. I had (2)soleil razor coupons for $2 off, (3)chex mix coupons, one was 50cents off two were $1.00 off, (2)coupons for free soleil razor cartridges with purchase of soleil razor, (2)coupons for 75cents off ghiradelli, (2)coupons for $1.00 off edge shaving cream (1)coupon for 2.00 off excedrin, and $10 off $30 walgreens coupon. So I got all that for -$0.07 and tax was $1.33 and paid only $1.26. Awesome deal!!

20 Hadley May 30, 2008 at 2:32 pm

I just got back from my Walgreen’s and everyone of the free after rebate items was WAY more than the limit price. Usually mine is pretty much spot on (or lower), but for some reason, the calcuium chews and 130 pack vitamins were $9.99+. I guess I will look for them to put these on sale and get them then.

21 Nicole May 30, 2008 at 2:41 pm

Does anyone know if I can double dip on the rebates from may and june? Examle- the vacuum is in both may and june books for a $20.00 rebate

22 Riannon May 30, 2008 at 2:53 pm

Just to let everyone know. If you buy the Freestyle Lite Glucose Monitor for $9.99. There is a FREE after MIR inside the box and it is producing a FREE Glucerna Cereal RR at the register. I was pleasantly surprised about the FREE cereal & monitor!

23 michelle May 30, 2008 at 2:59 pm

I actually work at walgreens so I can get a 15% discount. I’m alwasy trying to bargain shop but the funny thing is I rarely get anything at work. I don’t do the free after rebate programs since I really don’t need those items. However I did use the 10 off coupon today. I bought 3 packs of diapers, chex mix, and excedrin. I used the 2.00 coupon for excedrin, 1.00 off chex mix, 2- 1.50 & 1- 1.50 coupon for diapers. The cashier rang the coupons up wrong. She scanned my coupons wrong and actually hard keyed an extra 1.50 for my diaper coupon. So my total was 14.95. Can’t complain.

24 Jewel May 30, 2008 at 4:05 pm

My math works out differently for the deal posted for the razor and shave gel deal.
2 razors at 11.99 = 23.98
2 shave gels at 3.99 = 7.98 Total of 31.96
Minus $20 in coupons for the 2 razors
Minus $6 in coupons for the 2 shave gels
Minus $10 off $30 coupon
This equals negative $4.04

The razor is actually 1.99 after the coupons and not .99 cents. This is how the deal worked out for me at Wags. It was a great deal.

Walgreens overlap question:
Say I’m reading these right, and there’s a $7 rebate for the Crest kit in BOTH May and June. If I buy the kit during these 2 overlapping days, can I get the rebate for both months off of the same item?? Do rebates work like the coupons?

26 Beth May 30, 2008 at 8:23 pm

Thanks so much for the info on the Walgreens deal!! My husband was in need of razors and shaving cream, so this worked out really well for us. Great timing!
I went in this afternoon and got 2 Schick Quatro Titanium razors, 2 Edge shave gels, 2 bags of chex mix, and 2 huge hershey bars (I picked up two Edge gels that were $2.49 instead of $3.99 so I had to grab the hershey bars at the checkout to make my total $30). And – get this! – after coupons my total was -$1.56, and they actually PAID ME! Cash! Crazy. I was stunned, as was the guy in line behind me. :-)
In case anyone is interested, here are the coupons I used:
$10 off 30
$3 off Schick razor (from paper)
2 $3 off Schick razor (May Easysaver)
2 $4 off Schick razor (June Easysaver)
2 $1 off Edge shave gel (printable)
2 $1 off Edge shave gel (May Easysaver)
1 $1 off Chex mix (printable – I would have used two but I already used the other one!)
This was my first venture into deals at Walgreens – seems like this was a special thing, but I’ll definitely be paying close attention to Walgreens deals from now on! Thanks again for the heads up!

27 Chris from St. Mary's May 31, 2008 at 8:07 am

In cases where the item available for the free after rebate, but the current price is showing a lot higher, it usually means that sometime during June, that item will go on sale for that price. At that point, you can purchase and add to your rebate list for free.

28 Tricia Hicks May 31, 2008 at 10:59 am

This was my first time at this and it was so much fun! I got some much needed things for a fraction of the cost.

29 chris May 31, 2008 at 5:16 pm

Did the 10/30 on Friday. Got some great savings on things we use and need. Did BOGO on banana boat sunscreen, but no mfg coupons. Did BOGO on mitchum antiperspirant – plus had 2 .75 coupons. Got band-aids, neosporin, ajax, OB tampons, and batteries all with sale price + coupons and for the batteries, a rebate!! My Walgreens happily took the $10 off first and rang up about $8 in mfg coupons afterward. Spent $30 on $75 retail worth of stuff. I’m new to this and totally delighted – even if the amount sounds high to some of you veterans – I’m on cloud nine. Can’t wait til the rebate gift card comes back.
