If I had been to this site before, it’s been a long time. I especially like the life skills section, although much of it is still beyond my 3-year-old.
I am both a first grade teacher and reading teacher. I was glad to read and agree with the section on 1st grade reading expectations. They were realistic and portrayed to readers that children learn to read by using a complex set of strategies – far more than just “sounding it out.”
Thanks for your website and thanks for give-aways like this. My son is going to love the marshmallow/microwave experinment! I can’t wait to explore more and find lots of new ideas for school.
Having a child with Down syndrome, I liked the special needs section. However, I was surprised that Down syndrome wasn’t even listed there. It is the number one genetic disorder and I think that other parents like myself would find articles on educating our special little ones helpful…especially since I plan to homeschool her like our older two.
Thanks for sharing this site…..I loved how it is divided into different ages. I enjoyed the suggestions for interacting with my teen. I need lots of help he is the first of six to enter into this season of life.
I love that they split the money education into age appropriate stages. Given my 3 year old daughter now thinks that money is a plastic card, I also intend to do some “real” money playing with her.
I really like the “what to expect for Kindergardeners” section of the website. Good reading info for parents. Naomi nachuck2003@yahoo.com
Neat neat site!! I could spend tons of money there!! I have definately bookmarked this site for future reference.

I had begun to peruse the site when I came across these points in an article about four year olds. I’m not sure if the site owner previews all of the articles or not? I can see there is a lot of information to be accessed here. I was just a bit disappointed to see this in the article. The advice given in bullet points included these things (as well as a couple of others):
1. Reinforce and praise appropriate behavior, ignore inappropriate behavior whenever possible.
2. Set clear limits and rules. Follow through with appropriate consequences.
3. Be consistent.
I don’t believe it is possible for any parent to be consistent, with clear limits and rules (let alone follow through with appropriate consequences), if they are to ignore inappropriate behavior. Maybe it’s just me, but these points don’t seem to work together. Maybe this was an oversight? I just thought the editors might want to be careful, as it could make someone not want to spend a lot more time perusing the site if they came across too much of that kind of advice that is supposed to be from the “experts.” Just a suggestion. I’ll be checking more of it out and hope to be pleasantly surprised.
Thanks for your post on education.com. I had not heard of this site and enjoyed looking at what it has to offer. I especially liked the “kindergarten readiness” section. I taught kindergarten for a number of years and this would really help parents help their kids get off to a successful start in school.
Wow, we really needed some encouragement with chores around here. I was wonderfully encouraged and inspired! That you for posting this contest with links!
Since I am a teacher, I really appreciate how the site has links for each of the different grade levels. It makes it easy to find information for different age groups without having to search through so many articles to locate something that you can use in the classroom. This site is great.
I love how they separate the activites by grade. I teach kindergarten and it’s often hard to find age appropriate activites, but this site has several! I love the flannel board ladybugs!
I liked to see the activities to try as well as recommended books that coordinated with the activity.
LOVED this site. I have nver seen it before. I have a rising kinder and I loved having access to kindergarten readiness. Thanks for sharing and for the chance to win great prizes!
Wow, this is soo much fun! I’ve never been to this website before so I can tell you from a first time visitor standpoint that it was very easy to navigate. I LOVED the stuff from high school students and as a mother of 3 high schoolers this was very valuable for me to find something in their age group. Thank you for the contest and good luck to everyone!
Wow! I have 13 children, and I saw lots of beautiful, helpful and educational items on their website. I noticed lots of info on giving children an allowance, and I would be interested in seeing something that also addresses the viewpoint of not giving children an allowance. Thanks so much!
I really liked the variety of activities that they had and that they were for every age group. It’s something that I will definitely use in the future. Along with the activities, I found the resources helpful.
Thanks for linking the site – I love that not only does it have a lot of different products for different ages/personalities, it also has some very helpful articles. This makes my life so much easier to be able to read about an idea, and then be able to order something right on the same website without having to go and hunt it down somewhere else. Thanks again!
My daughter is headed off to fifth grade next year, so I totally love that I can look up according to grade.
Consider it bookmarked.

LOVED the website. Will be checking it often. THANK YOU!!!
I, too, am a CVS shopper and like to see how others “do it”! Love your site!!
And Education.com – cool! Bookmarked and passed it on! Love the easy truffle recipe!
The only thing I did not see was any special needs addressed. My 10 yr old is Autistic and my 1 yr old signs. That would be my suggestion for them. To add some special needs stuff (I know wide umbrella)- maybe some simple signs or printable PEC cards.

Thanks for the link to the education site. I love that you can find information and activities by grade level. There appears to be lots of good information on that site! Definitely bookmarked!
I love these activities!!!! This is a great site with a lot of helful and fun things to do.
I like the website. As a homeschooler, you are always wondering what “level” your kids are on, and it is great how they tell you what child will learn and do at each grade. I also liked the article on fractions. As a former math teacher, I firmly believe that the more exposure kids get to fractions at home the less scary they will be in math!
Thanks for this opportunity. I loved this site and am glad that I know about it now. I liked how easily it was laid out and how you don’t have to surf around forever to find what you are looking for, making it easy to look up your own child’s needs.

Wow, what a handy site! This site was new to me and I was so impressed with all of the resources they offered. It’s a great plus that they include informational articles on topics relevant to parents, too. I will definitely be browsing again soon as I look for new helps to homeschool my 6.
I love this site! I have a one year old and a 6 year old! I am always looking for ‘educational’ things to keep them entertained! I love that the site breaks it down in what to expect on each grade level! It really gives me a heads up on what to work on over the summer to get my child prepared for the next year!!!
I enjoyed reading about the expectations for each grade level. I didn’t realize they had so many articles on their site. I love all the fun and education toys too!
the parent’s guide to middle school is AWESOME!!!! I am totally dreading my son’s transition into publlic middle school next year but there are so very helpful tips and suggestions on what to expect when and how to overcome each obstacle as he develops. Thannks so much for this site!!
I was intrigued by the discussion on teaching our kids to manage money and help with the household chores. With summer time I am at loss at how much they should do. I was challenged with being calm and celebrating often!
Both of these would be great to win, thanks!
I liked how they had the activities divided up by grade. Makes it easy to navigate and find what you want.
What an awesome site, especially for us homeschool moms! I have a VERY advanced preschooler (was reading before his third birthday) as one of my 3 kids and I loved their article on academic preschools which reminded me that, though he has the capacity to learn academic things due to his “giftedness” (I hate that word!), he still is a little boy who wants to run and play and paint and do puzzles! Thanks for the link – I will be bookmarking that one!
I was at first excited to see them address issues related to gifted children. However, I found the idea that somehow gifted children should have legal rights and benefits to be a little ridiculous and catering to the ever increasing self-serving idea that everyone deserves something from the government.
That’s a great site. It’s laid out well and everything seems easy to find. I liked how things were divided by age. One thing I looked for, but didn’t find, was a list of recommended educational toys. My daughters are turning 7 and 3 this summer and I’m in the market for educational toys for them. Thanks for the chance to win!
I really enjoyed the Special Needs section. The articles were very good. My son is speech delayed and we are working with a speech therapist. These articles have given me ideas his teacher hasn’t mentioned before. Thanks for the link.
Thank you so much for this wonderful site. I am a grandmothr with two young grandchildren so this is now bookmarked and on my desktop.
That was my first time at there website. I have 3 young children I am starting to homeschool and I take care of an extra one. There are a lot of great ideas of that site i added it to my favorites.
I am a homeschool mom & enjoyed the section on what was age appropriate. I was able to click on the specific grade for each of my children & find out info. specific to their age/development. Thanks.
I love this site. We have decided to take our 3rd grader out of public school. She has a week to go until she is done. I found a home school/cyber school program that sounds great. She was tested low in english/language. I found some great activities to help her build her skills in this area on education.com. I wish I had found this resource earlier because she experienced a bullying problem.
I loved the school finder section. I’ve moved twice and had to find new schools for my kids – sites like this were a great help! The only thing I didn’t like about the site was that everything loaded very slowly. I’m quick to lose interest in a website if I can’t navigate it quickly.
I really enjoyed this site. I am 53 with one grandchild. I have been so busy with school, work, and children that I never felt that I voted on issues I really cared or knew about. I really appreciate the articles on where everyone stands on education. This made me feel more imformative and I feel I can make a decision that will impact my grandchild.
Thank you so much for all you do.
I’m a teacher and have never been to this site…unbelievable! I thought it would be just a site where you can purchase things, so I was pleasantly surprised by the articles and fREE activities. I’m going to do the marshmallow experiment with my son!
What a cool site, I had never heard of this before. Guess I missed it last time. I loved the area on kids and saving money. The ideas given on getting kids helping with chores was great.
I like the section titled “Parent’s Guide to…” (select grade level)
I didn’t see any products for infants – my DS and I would love to see some products for his age group. Thanks!
I love that they cover topics relevant to the different age groups. A good place to begin looking for answers, whatever need arises.
A good site I hadn’t seen before. I wasn’t able to easily find the products they had for sale though. That would be my recommendation to make it easier to find those things. Overall informative site.
I thought they sold products but I liked that they have info for parents.
